Yes names its on the same time here too, so cant wait for that.

Oh Joan glad you found something good to watch....sex on legs eh lol I actually seem to remember that now you mentioned it.

Kath you are so right. We did enjoy where they went visiting on xmas morning to the children in hospital, it was a joy to watch. Even my grandparents loved Moorcombe & Wise. Upstairs Downstairs was a firm favourite too.

My 35 year old really enjoyed watching an old Dad’s Army episode and the lost Morecombe and wise tape. We miss thedaftness of those old shows.

The new series of Call the Midwife starts next Saturday at 8 on BBC 1. Don’t know if Scottish timings are different.

My son and I were saying yesterday that we wish the BBC would just pick any Christmas day from the 1970's and repeat the whole day's television. I used to enjoy the morning programmes where they visited kids in hospital and the stars took gifts for them. It might just be nostalgia but I'm sure the programmes were better then.

Yes it was the episode where they got the sand and made a beach for the bank holiday in the street, pretending it was the seaside.

No it was the one where a lady lost her son abroad and had no grave to grieve so the receptionist bought her a rose in the child's memory. I remember it from awhile ago.

I don’t know what you watched, Florence, but the Call the Midwife I watched was new. :-S

Florence61 Report 27 Dec 2021 18:23

Unfortunately, call the midwife was a repeat. I thought it was actually a new one!
I do watch some things on drama like Frost, morse etc.

And yes the quiz shows with people from ages past.Even celebrity catchphrase was a repeat with Ann from the Chase.

I had been hoping that the second part of Grace might have been shown but its not been on yet. Filmed in & around my hometown on the south coast.

Oh yes MTG love all those and constantly watch on repeat.

You may well be right there Names. It must be a production nightmare.

I do like a good detective though. Frost, Morse, Endeavour, Poirot or Marple.

We have been watching on ITV3 and Drama.

I think all the companies have been struggling with the pandemic. Must be easier to do something with the teams thst know each other well rather than building new teams (cast and crews).

Rather than thank goodness for the soaps we have been saying thank goodness for ALL4.

I am fed up with Celebrity Quiz programmes. The same old faces crop up all the time. Other than that, I do not know who half of them are.

Watched Strictly Christmas edition, but apart from that, most of the offerings were puerile.

We have watched the missing episode of the Morecombe and Wise Show plus their 1971 Christmas special, Ghosts and Death in Paradise.

Do not follow any soaps but we like listening to the radio so had that on most of the time. We will watch All Creatures Great and Small.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 27 Dec 2021 16:21

I haven’t watched the tv at all over Xmas. I want to watch Call the Midwife and the All Creatures Great and Small Xmas special. I will watch those on catch up after tomorrow when the bulk of the family have gone back home

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 27 Dec 2021 16:19

We watched some ofecambe and Sise, Death in Paradise, the soaps, Sgrictly come dancing Christmas special. We have recorded call the midwife. We started to watch Alfie Boe and. Ichael all but we were all talking so that is recorded too. We did watch the Wall Christmas special with East Enders stars. I have to say we would not want films to be on, we would not watch them, there seemed to be loads on, on different stations.

Am I the only one apart from Joan on Chit Chat that thought the tv viewing this year was dire?

If it wasnt for the soaps, Im not sure if i would have watched anything. Used to be an epic film on xmas day like a James Bond instead I think it was Mary Poppins!

I miss Only Fools & Horses, the 2 Ronnies and programmes that really make you laugh but sadly not this year.

Anyone feel the same?
