I have also just seen a warning for my area regarding the council tax rebate. People phoning saying it is due and asking for bank details. Our local authority has said it will be paid out in April and nobody will phone and ask for details.

Just had a call (on my landline) from someone claiming to be from the National Energy Board, wanting me to confirm That I lived at *my old address* and that I owned the property.
Not sure what he wanted, but my response was 'No, I've moved, and never owned the property. Shame, one less for you to scam'.

The number was 01422734095.

I looked the number up online, after he'd gone - and it is an energy scammer :-| :-| :-|
