Have had a smart meter for few years now.
It worked fine for while, then stopped reading the gas supply. Company informed, told to switch off/on. Never caught up. Had to give gas readings occasional visit.
About 18 months or so, the electric reading was showing a lot less than should have done. Instead of say £5 aday was showing lot less. Despite telling company, they say still getting readings from electric ok, and they would send new meter. Noting.
About 9 months ago, went all electric, as the gas fires x 2 were really old and the gas oven needed replacing. Smart reader still does not read right, again it was mentioned to company.

I have a smart meter, but the display was never here. I also have to read the meters, as, it appears, they're not getting to the supplier!
So, not so smart.
Just, it appears, an expensive attempt to monitor people's use for times when people use fuel the most, to introduce expensive tariffs

It sounds like they've failed!

I have a smart meter display unit which shows me exactly how many units I am using throughout the day along with the amount so far in £. I worked out on the new increased tariff, that I should try and keep my usage below 8 units a day to stay within my budget.

So yesterday, I clicked on tariff and was shocked to see the old tariffs rate still showing. This means the units I have used are calculated on the old rates and the amount in £ is incorrect. I have the Utilita App on my phone so went on that and was a bit shocked that my bill for last month was £96 but on the display it was only £60.

Whilst I am in credit and not in debt, it simply does not help as I thought, I had been ok in April as we didnt use my heating at all.

So I telephoned Utilita yesterday and was advised to turn of the display unit for an hour and then switch it back on and it should update with new tariff.
I did this last night but nothing changed and again this morning.

So I telephoned and spoke to a chap who said he had received many calls about this but didn't have an answer only that it may take several weeks for everyones unit to be updated. They are receiving readings from it but from my point of view, the amount displayed is very misleading.

I would have thought, computers would have updated every display unit within a week at the most.

Anyone else have a display unit where the tariff is still showing the previous rates?
