Wow Joan ! What a lovely surprise you got. Its called the married couples allowance so yes if you dont work and hubby pays tax, he can use your allowance to offset his tax bill.
Great they backdated it...fab :-D

This morning I received a letter from the travel insurance company telling me that, because of all the restrictions in the last couple of years, I would get a refund of £140.00. This is to compensate me for the holidays I couldn't have!!

They haven't taken into account the fact that we put in a claim for one holiday (paid in full, but cancelled) where the refund was more than the year's premium! :-D :-D

Has anyone else had this experience? Not all insurance companies are on the make, it seems. :-)
