Well, I didn't see that coming :-0 :-0

I think though, out of two, the correct couple won :-). As Craig would say Molly's dance was "gawgus" :-D. I really do think they danced their Foxtrot better than Saturday :-D

As always I really felt for the losers :-(. Especially as I don't think they deserved to be in the dance off :-(. Well done, Ellie you did yourself proud :-)

The cameras caught a glimpse of Katya and Tony who both looked genuinely shocked and saddened, I think they both knew it should have been them :-(

I hope moving forward the voting isn't going to become a farce and more good dancers exit at the expense of Tony & Katya :-(. Of course, if Tony dances well then he should keep his place on Strictly but he danced diabolically last Saturday and when you get to this stage of the competition you should only stay in on merit :-)

It seems to be the same old story year after year sadly. A supposedly popular dancer is saved over a better dancer.

Remember a couple of years ago it was Dan that was kept in while others were eliminated.

Ellie was so gracious but genuinely upset, I was sitting crying for her. She was a real trooper.

And so we go on to another week.

AnninGlos Report 7 Nov 2022 09:11

Yes I felt sad for Ellie, she was really enjoying the dancing and being among so many new friends who genuinely loved her.

I am not sure if my memory serves me right here but once before when somebody was kept in undeservedly by the public, they said they would resign from the competition. they didn't but it would be a shame if this pact among Tony's football supporters, who reportedly would never normally even watch strictly, kept him in when really good dancers had to leave. It makes a mockery of the competition, which I believe, is their intention. In the report I read they actually said they would be able to get him awarded the glitter ball. It is a shame because he is genuinely a nice fellow and much liked by the other celebrities. But if he is not deemed by others than this huge group of people from football teams to deserve to stay in. It will actually smear his name through no fault of his own.

I think you may be talkng about John Sargeant, Ann. He knew he was not as good a dancer and eventually counted himself out.

It looks like Blackpool is on 19 Nov, AnnG :-)

Ah yes MTG that is right

Thanks Belle.

Well, it certainly is getting difficult now :-0

My favourite of the evening was Molly's Rumba. I don't normally like the Rumba and I sometimes find Molly to be very litte girlish but boy was that a grown up dance :-D

I also liked Fleur's Samba, it sure was hot, hot, hot :-D :-D

I thought Ellie's Charleston was fun and she certainly looked like she enjoyed it :-D

Hamza did really well again and as for those those lifts for a celeb to do them was brilliant :-D

I haven't been a fan of Will but his Waltz was very good and he did seem to be leading :-D

So the four I wasn't too keen on were Helen, Tyler, Kym and Tony :-(

If Tony had danced that Jive in week 2 I think everyone would have said it was good but we are now half way through the show and everyone else is dancing so much more better :-)

I think it should be Kym and Tony in the dance off :-(. I just hope it's not Molly and Fleur :-0. I do hope the Arsenal fans let Tony go, it would be awful if it was one of the others :-( :-(

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 13 Nov 2022 08:16

I don't think they are going to let Tony go Belle. When I read about it a few weeks back they were gloating and the aim seemed more about skewing the results than keeping Tony in.

I loved will's waltz but that was more personal because of the song and it was a bad memory day for me but I actually thought he did very well. Hamza is just great, his character shines through and I love those lifts.

I am not keen on Molly but I did like her Rumba (and I don't normally like the dance either)
I liked Fleur as well.

I thought Tyler's shirt off dance was more of an intentional look at me vote catcher and was not that keen on his dance.

Goodness knows who caught the eyes of the public this week they are now coming forward with the sob stories which seems to catch some votes.

Of course it should be tony. He has actually improved and should be proud of himself for that but he is way behind everyone else. He is likeable though.

MotownGal Report 13 Nov 2022 08:29

I had a quick catch up this morning, and skipped through all the blah, blah, blah.

I really like Tyler as a dancer, but I thought his Paso was a bit stompy.

Fleur was great, and I also liked Helen. Ellie is having the time of her life so it seems. When she first began the prog I didnt think she would get this far, but she has come on really well.

Tony may well be kept in again, in one of the local papers, there is a concerted effort by the fans to keep him in. Shame really, if it means a better dancer will go.

No idea at all who will go this week. :-S

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 14 Nov 2022 07:27

Well, that was a bit of an anti climax :-0. Although, I do recall Tony holding his left hamstring after the live show :-(

It's always sad when someone leaves the dance floor but it was Tony's time. I wonder what happened to his massive following :-0

I have to say the opening sequence was absolutely spot on.... a lovely remembrance, beautifully choreographed and danced <3

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 14 Nov 2022 08:13

Yes loved the opening sequence beautiful, respectful and touching.

It was an anti climax, I was pleased to see him in the dance off, then... nothing. I had not noticed him looking in pain on Saturday but, I assume he was actually in the bottom two. wonder if he had emailed his fans before the vote so that they didn't vote for him. we will never know but at least it meant Tyler went through to Blackpool. And it will make more sense now. He did seem a nice fellow though and popular with the other celebrities and professionals.

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 14 Nov 2022 08:41

I agree the opening was lovely. Also the photo of the late Queen was very fitting.

Always sad to see someone go, but it was the right decision.

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 14 Nov 2022 09:29

I liked it when the dancers all applauded The Queen at the end of the opening sequence <3

If it had come to a dance off Tyler would have won it hands down :-). I wonder if it will buck Tyler's ideas up because I think over the last couple of weeks his dances have been lacking compared to the others especially as he was so good earlier on :-0. Perhaps he has reached his peak, I hope not :-)

Tony did seem a genuinely nice guy and he was popular with the others :-). I guess we'll never know what influenced his massive fan base to desert him :-0

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 14 Nov 2022 12:13

Tony was always very popular with the Gunners.

I think he may have done a John Sargeant, and bowed out gracefully.

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 14 Nov 2022 19:29

I think you might be right Maddie :-)

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 20 Nov 2022 08:10

Well. the Celebs did Blackpool proud......what an excellent evening of dance. :-D

My favourites were Helen and Fleur :-D. Loved Helen's Quickstep, boy was it quick :-D I don't usually like Couples Choice but I thought Fleur was exceptional, she looked like one of the professionals :-D

Followed, in no particular order, by Hamza, Molly and Will :-D
Hamza doesn't cease to amaze me.....he would be the first to admit that he doesn't have the physic of a dancer but he certainly has the moves :-D
Molly looked like she was really enjoying herself :-D
Will, certainly knew how to girate those hips :-D

So that leaves Kym, Tyler and Ellie :-0.
Although I felt all three did well they weren't as good as the others. Out of the three I think Ellie has improved the most but I'm not sure whether it's enough to keep her out of the dance off and of the competition :-(.
Kym's Paso was powerful when she was dancing alone but I think lacked something when dancing with her partner :-0
As for Tyler, he doesn't seem to have that same sparkle that he had at the beginning of the competition, the others seemed to have overtaken him :-0. Saying that though the lifts did look difficult but I don't think he made them look effortless :-)

So I feel that Ellie and Kym will be in the dance off and sadly Ellie and the lovely Johannes will go...I hope I'm wrong though :-)

I have to say I did like the extra dancers which made each dance more of a showcase :-D

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 20 Nov 2022 08:33

Well I agree with most of what Belle said.

I think Kym's Paso was more style than substance, it did not do it for me, looked good, but not enough dancing.

Fleur was great, and she mentioned Destiny's Child, but I thought the style of dancing was more Janet Jackson.

Molly, Will, Helen and Hamza all great.

Tyler, sadly, seems to be running out of steam. I think it may be Ellie and Kym in the dance off. I think Ellie is having the time of her life.

I know the ballroom is huge, and they have to fill it, but I found the extra dancers a distraction, rather than adding to the content. I did not know who to look at, at one point.

Last minute mention of Dave Arch again, but still no mention by name of the singers. I know I keep banging on about it, but they are an integral part of the show, without them, there would be no music to dance to! :-|

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 20 Nov 2022 08:51

A great evening's entertainment. I actually enjoyed the extra dancers especially when they really interacted with the celebrities.
It is really difficult to call who will be in the dance off. I really liked (in no particular order) Hamza, Fleur and Helen so I hope it is none of those three. I think it might well be Ellie but could be any of the others as the public are very unpredictable.

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 21 Nov 2022 07:08

Well, I agree out of the two Tyler should have been the one to go :-(. Molly's dance was more finished :-)

I did wonder though with Shirley having the final vote whether she may have kept Tyler as she always seemed to favour him, sometimes almost flirting :-0.

Tyler was so good at the beginning but the others seemed to have improved more, overtaken him and left him behind :-(

I'm pleased that Ellie got through because I don't think she has had any dance experience and has improved from that gawky dancer at the beginning:-)

I did like the professionals opening dance and the two young professional dancers of the future :-)

So onto to week 11 :-0. Soon they will have to dance two numbers :-0

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 21 Nov 2022 07:17

Yes Mollie was the better of the two. I was surprised that Anton voted for Tyler and held my breath for Shirley's answer. I think Tyler was upset to go but he took it well. It was the right decision though.
Weren't those young dancers lovely, I wonder if we will see more of them in future years as they grow up.
