It was so nice to see the lovely Amy such a good ambassador for everything she has gone/is going through <3

What enjoyable night of dance :-D. Filled with ups and downs :-0

Disappointed with Nigel's Jive but it wasn't that bad to be in the dance off :-0. He really does need to improve next week if for no other reason than to bring his confidence back :-0

The surprise for me was Krishnan, I thought his Charleston was very entertaining and he looked very much the part :-D

Others that I liked, in no particular order, were

Bobbie's Samba, those hips :-0 :-0. Didn't Dianne look so different with her brown wig, it really suited her :-D

Angela S's Charleston, their synchronization and energy was fantastic :-D

Amanda's Rumba, very sexy :-D

Annabelle's Waltz, looked so much like Audrey Hepburn and was elegance personified :-0 I do feel if she could just get over her nerves she could be even better :-0. Johannes as usual was lovely <3

Ellie's Viennese Waltz was very good but I think I preferred previous dances more:-)

So who's for the dance off:-0. I too think Nikita together with Cody :-(. Cody to go through as he only had two days training :-)

I enjoyed the show, as entertainment it was good, colourful and the celebrities are all trying hard. Hard to call who will go but agree MTG Nikita in the dance off, Might be Angela R as well but she will have a good fan base I think because of her age.

I did like the opening dance by the professionals. :-)

First of all, how lovely it was to see the beautiful Amy Dowden on the show. With her stunning white gown and chandelier earrings, she looked wonderful. She said she was doing well with her treatment and it showed <3

Sadly I did not think Nigel has improved much over the last couple of weeks. His flicks and kicks in the Jive were a bit lethargic.

I wonder if Angela R. is feeling the strain of practice, as to me, it seemed she was being pulled around by Kai. She is a lovely dancer, but the oldest of the team.

Angela S. her Charleston was very sharp. When they showed them going into the Phoenix cinema to see the routine, I shouted out, I know that, that is in Finchley. :-D

Amanda was the slinky miss of the night, with her Rumba.

Dear little Ellie is improving week by week, she is young and eager, and her Vienese Waltz was very good inded.

Eddie doing the Couple's Choice was fast and snappy, but it reminded me too much of the dance with Bill Baily and Katya.

Annabel was sophistication itself with her waltz to Moon River.

I was surprised by the Kit Kat routine with Krishnan, I think he held his own, and was very good.

Sadly I think Nikita will be the one to go this week.

Agree that the right person went and I also think he looked tired . I didn't like the routine much either , not a fan of the comedy routines for the ones that have no dance experience . Definitely the right 2 in the dance off.. Although she is good and brilliant for her age I just haven't taken to Angela R.

Adam needs to calm down a bit he is like a noisy school boy atm. lol

Looking forward to movie week.

Bell yes the right one to go, and maybe a good decision for his health. I suspect he is more than a little relieved. I wonder if he doesn't have that many fans to support him

The one who was also in the dance off, Nikita is it? I don't think she will last long unless she makes a dramatic improvement. And yes, Adam is more than a little annoying.

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 2 Oct 2023 07:20

Les was definitely the one to go :-). He did look exhausted in rehearsals so perhaps it was best for him to go out at this early stage.:-). Perhaps the public have turned a new leaf by not trying to keep in a celeb that can't dance :-0

I like Film Week :-D

It's going to be difficult next week - they're all so good.

Having said that - Adam annoys me! :-D

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 1 Oct 2023 20:21

Les was the first to go, and it was the right decision.

However, I thought he was very gracious in defeat, but I think he looked a bit tired. Maybe he didnt realise how hard it would be. <3

Next week Film Week, so lots of dressing up. :-D

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 1 Oct 2023 10:25

Yes, Maddie a very enjoyable evening of dance :-D. It is somewhat of a marathon at this stage of the competition though :-0

I thought Layton's dance was very good but I can't help thinking he has an unfair advantage having starred in West End shows like Billy Elliot :-)

Nigel's dance wasn't as good as last week's Paso but as I've said before it is very difficult for the male celebs to be in hold and lead especially so early on in the competition :-0

Angela R's Foxtrot was very elegant :-)

Ellie's Foxtrot was completely different but very good :-)

I also liked

Amanda's Salsa, some of those lifts so early on the competition were fantastic :-0

Angela S's Jive, full of energy. I thought she was going break into an Irish dance at one point :-0

Bobby's Charleston, I think I was expecting a bit more from him though :-0

As the competition goes on I think Zara and Annabel might be ones to watch if they can relax and get over their nerves :-)

My two for the dance off purely on performances are Les and Nikita but who knows if they have a large fan base :-0

Enjoyed last night again, but the constant booing of the audience when the judges give their marks is becoming tedious to me. It is a competition, and Shirley as an award winning dancer is giving her opinion.

I hope Adam does not get emotional every time he get critiqued.

I loved little Bobby again, he listened to everything the judges said to him, and thanked them for it.

I love the way that Johannes is being very protective of Annabel, as she is still very fragile after her husband passing away earlier this year. Her quickstep was very good, and she looked a vision in yellow.

Also Kai squiring Angela around is lovely. I hope they did not stay too long in the Palm House at Kew. I have been in there and the humidity is stifling. Angela's foxtrot was dreamy.

Amanda was the surprise of the evening with her Salsa. All those lifts and shimmies. Wow.

Ellies foxtrot was very sweet, and Krishnan's was good entertainment.

Laytons end dance of course was off the scale.

I fear Les will be going, with his Dad Dancing, but we shall see.

All in all, a good nights entertainment. :-D

No surprises with les bless him but he's quite wooden and don't think he will last very long.

Nigel said he couldn't dance on some paper I read but he sure could on Sat eve. He is def one to watch.

Angela's dress hmmmm yes not too flattering around the midriff but fantastic for her age and look at those legs.

All did very well for the first live show and we shall see what happens in the coming weeks.

Have to say that I enjoyed the show and was pleasantly surprised by Nigel totally did not expect that. One to watch I think .
Liked Ellie , Amanda and Angela S.

Think it will be a good series and Les might be the 1st to go but it depends on his fan base I suppose.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 24 Sep 2023 08:48

he should be of course MG but don't forget his supporters.

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 24 Sep 2023 08:08

Enoyed it last night, but why was Tess wearing a couple of Bin Bags for trousers?

I know it is my pet hate but why so long into the programme did they mention Dave Arch and his singers. The programme would not exist without the music. Give the singers a mention by name!

I thought Adam and Krishnan made a good effort, but have yet to settle into their dances.

Bobby will become the Mum and Nan favourite. He dances smoothly. He reminded me of the dancer Tommy Tune with his stature, he will be there a long time.

Although Angela R. was very supple, and her leg kick was wonderful, her dress could have been more flattering.

Amanda looked worried throughout the prog. as she was the penultimate dancer, but she barnstormed through it. Great.

Nigel was a complete suprise to me, what a corker of a dance.

Lastly little Ellie was so excited, and she was like a Dur##ell bunny jumping around. Delightful.

Sadly I think Les will be the first one to go.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 24 Sep 2023 08:07

I do have to say that I wish I had half Angela Rippon's energy, flexibility (and legs).

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 24 Sep 2023 07:18

A bit of a marathon but enjoyable nonetheless :-)

I'm just so pleased Nigel can dance. So often a celeb has the looks but has two left feet. I always think celebs can make the Paso look so stompy but for his first dance of the series...wow :-)

Others to impress me, in no particular order, were

Bobby's Foxtrot, it flowed so effortlessly and the story was good.

Annabelle's Cha Cha Cha, what lovely legs she has ideal for the dance.

Ellie's Jive, for her first dance which needs so much energy she did well

Amanda"s Viennese Waltz, there has been a lot in The Press about her an Giovanni not getting on because he is a hard taskmaster. The dance was intense and she showed potential .

It is only the first show and others will start to show their potential as the show moves on :-)

Well what a first show that was. And definitely saved the best to last. There is a lot of talent there this year.

Adam, Scott and his brother and father did a DNA/FH show on TV where they travelled to India to search for family roots, and found some cousins. They all have that same cheeky sense of humour so had a great time.

Looking forward to this evening show, I have no preference as to who wins atm but will no doubt change , there are a couple who I already find irritating but that is the case whatever they are in.

Hope you all enjoy Strictly tonight
