Monozygotic twins.

Monozygotic twins, also known as identical twins, occur when a single fertilized egg (zygote) splits into two, resulting in two babies with the same genetic makeup. Because they share the same DNA, monozygotic twins are genetically identical, are always the same sex, and often look very similar.

I’m not a twin but knew how identical twins happened. Just didn’t know the fancy name.

Mr M, am I right in thinking that identical twins born from the same fertilised egg share the same DNA, whereas twins born from two eggs do not?

I think my brother told me that many moons ago.,

I should add he was working on DNA and tomatoes in the 1970s and it was fascinating to read his stuff.
