It would be useful to know where you have been looking.
For example, whilst I can’t find Joseph & Elizabeth on freebmd I can see the marriage of Charles J in 1866. Freebmd also tell us on the birth registration it is Charles Joseph.

There is a death of Joseph Dawson at the end of 1852 in Aston. ( from freebmd)
