Subscription ending, export failing - No Support

I originally joined this site in 2003 and have been paying for this service for many years, though I have barely used it. My subscription is set to expire in a couple of days and I want to cancel, but I absolutely do not want to lose my information.

The export function is failing. I have waited well over half an hour, despite the site stating it should only take 5-10 minutes. My email is correct, but nothing arrives (spam checked).
To make matters worse, the "Contact Us" link is a dead end.

Additionally, the print function is broken. It feels like a scam to see offers for paid prints using a GEDCOM file when I can’t even access that file, especially after being a member for over 20 years.

Has anyone else managed to get their data out before a subscription expired? Thanks.

I don’t even know where the contact us option is. Contact details are within the T&C’s - email them at [email protected]

Exporting trees is an old and regular issue.

Thanks @namelessone.

If this is a long-standing issue, then it's definitely time to leave. Once I have my data, I'll be deleting it from here. It appears they are just pulling in the cash with zero support and have no intention of fixing known issues.

It is not helpful when someone makes such major changes to a posting as you have.

I don't think you will lose any of your information f rom this site even if you do cancel. They don't seem to do anything at all when someone leaves. You just won't be able to contact anyone yo0u usually do through the site.

Genes is a sister company of Findmypast and all resources go there.

I still think it is worth keeping a subscription on here just to be able to add to the boards like this and to be able to contact anyone at any time. I'ver been a member since 2003 like you and I pay a very small subscription each year.

No need to panic.
Your tree remains on GR even when your subscription expires.

You will still be able to log in and access it. (Well, as long as the website exists.)

And, if you leave, if you have contacted anyone before on the message board you will still be able to contact them. I too have been a member since 2003, I keep my membership so that I can continue to have contact with friends on here.

If you contact support on

[email protected] They will get back to you but not at the weekends.
