Morning Maddie :-) <3

So lovely to wake up to brilliant early morning sunshine :-D
It was full-on by 6 a.m.!

The wind has eased a lot too.

Wash load just finished, but not sure what else I will do with my day?

Looks like it might get warmer as we go towards next weekend :-D

Morning Maddie, Gwyn, everyone :-) <3 :-) <3 :-) <3 :-) <3 :-) <3

It was bright sunshine here at 6.30 am but by 8 am the clouds had arrived and now it's very overcast and grey and threatening rain. Don't seem to get two days the same :-S

Had a lovely day out with my son yesterday. He had to go to Robin Hood's Bay where he works to pick up a car so I went with him for the ride. I thought we would just go straight there, pick up the car and straight back home again. However when we got there he asked if I wanted to have a drive round lots of small villages and find a pub for lunch which we did. If ever you are in Yorkshire and get the chance to visit Lastingham then The Blacksmith's Arms is well worth a visit, The lamb and mint pie with shortcrust pastry with mash and veg was to die for and the desserts outstanding.

We then drove over hill and dale through lovely villages on the way home instead of using the main roads. We are very lucky that we have lovely landscape around us and we don't have to travel too far to get there.

Enjoy your day everyone.

It was sunny here too first thing but that has all changed now :-)

Maddie, I fell asleep in the second half which says it all :-0 Suppose they don't want to peak in the friendlies ;-)

Kath, I can remember going to Robin Hood Bay with it's steep narrow road down to the Bay itself :-0

Morning Maddie, Gwyn, Kath, Fly, Belle. Von :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Overcast here at the moment.

MADDIE I had a cat called Morpheus.
It wasn't a real cat, it as one of those 'captains cats'.
When it started to get a bit manky I put it in the front garden.
Not one person knocked to say "excuse me, there's a dead cat in your garden"
Such a caring neighbourhood :-0

KATH that lamb certainly died for it :-0
I never know what 'to die for means. :-S

FLY you can keep it :-D

BELLE '62 year old horse' :-0 You wouldn't want my eyes!
I bet they wish they'd put more money on.
Is that £140 win? A good night out I suppose :-D

Island - the lamb was very local, farmed with love, cooked with love, eaten with love and if it was my last meal on earth I would have died happy :-D

My apologies if anyone doesn't eat meat - but I do ;-)

I don't eat animals Kath.
No love went into that lambs life, just profit.
We'll just have to agree to differ :-)

Afternoon All :-D <3

Just having a quick bite to eat before I head off to my bestie’s at Lanchester for the afternoon - Kath, you know where I mean.

Funny you should mention Lastingham, Kath, as I am doing my retired gardener’s family tree for him and he has direct ancestors from Lastingham so I shall let him know about the food at The Blacksmith’s Arms - he may want to visit.

He also has someone from Fryup on his tree and that was a new one on me. I wonder how a hamlet earned such a name - perhaps it was an in-between place where people became hungry while walking so lit a camp fire and had a good fry-up?

You really can learn something every day.

Waxing lyrical there, Maddie. :-D

Enjoy the rest of the day everyone. <3

Can't believe how cold it is :-0
Laptop says it's 18 degrees, but it certainly doesn't feel like it :-|

I wore my fleece, when I went out ..... and a coat on top of that!

Belle,
Daughter and I were talking about that news item yesterday.
Even the contractor had a linked name :-0
