What could Nibs be a nickname or short for?

My father always refered to an important person as 'his Nibbs' . or the person he was talking about. I remeber him saying it to a cousin of mine when she asked dad a Q. He repied ''You'd better ask His Nibbs'', meaning her father.

If its from the 1940's she could be Gloria !! This is after Gloria Gibbs who was given the nickname 'Miss Nibs' on the Jimmy Durante Camel Caravan radio show 1943-47, she received her trademark nickname when host Garry Moore dubbed her 'Her Nibs, Miss Gibbs' or if her surname was Gibbs then her first name could be anything or Isabel/Isabelle/Isabella - (or any variation)

Any connection with the chocolate and or sweet industry? Nibs are what you make choclate out of so it could be an afectionate nick-name. C

A friend has just phoned me in great excitement to tell me she has been sent a photo of some relatives by a cousin in Australia. One lady in a photo is called ''Nibs''. Any one got any ideas what this could be short for? I have heard of men being ''his nibs'', but never a female called Nibs before. Sue xx
