Hi All half way through my earlier reply and It went into space!!.Had a nice lunch and chat with two friends today ,and a bit of shopping.Weather has been good washing dry on the line again today.!!
Glad you are enjoying the stay with your grand son ,hope you manage all you want to do/
My freinds daughter had a dongle she has not used (long story as to why) which she has given me,and should not cost me anything to run,I am waiting for my nephew to come over and see whats what ,if its not ok i will get on to Virgin and do what you said.
Take care ,Brenda

badger Report 16 May 2012 08:38

Morning Brenda,i would get in touch with your broadband provider Lass and find out which is cheaper ,an added dongle which will cost you at least £10 a month.or get a wi fi box which will more than likely be cheaper ,and put all your in house hardware in sync with no wires or protruding dangly bits to get damaged by knees and whatever,as you move around in your chair, the secret to it all in a big city like yours is to play one provider off against the others ,i said i was leaving virgin media after 20 years because sky was cheaper ,and got a wi fi box ,and tivo for nothing ,you hassss to be crafty ,and cheeky these days ,lol :-D.
Yeah ,trapped nerves are nasty i am told ,lucky i am ,never had that happen to me ,give my arthritic hips any time stick and all :-).
Wehave decided to stay until mid week ,next ,giving me time to go back over to Westbury to take a picture of Raymonds grave ,put some flowers on at the same time ,and take a pic, of his old shop for the records.
Hear the snow is still hanging around up on Tyneside ,my poor tomato's will NOT be enjoying that at all.
Back later when i have come back and seen to the back lawn ,which looks more like the African Savannah just now ,half expecting to find some wild life in there somewhere lol.
Catch you later All , :-D <3

Morning Fred and anyone else looking in,dry and sunny here again, but still on the chilly side. Was raining earlier but has stopped so the washing is on the line.,glad the journey went well Fred. We have been told to get a dongle for the desk top so we can get rid of the cable which gets trapped a lot with Davids bedroom d.oor and the back bedroonm door. At the moment it is damaged so we can not use the desk top and the wireless printer gets no single.!!
I have to wait in this after noon for the gas man to do the yearly check on the central heating and fire.sometime between 12 -5pm !!
The pain in my leg is caused by the way the nerves in my back are trapped ,due to the vertabrae fusing ,the nerve can move but not completely ,so thats why I get more pain sometimes than others.
John going over to his brothers at lunch time to see his neice and her new baby ,I need to stay here for the gas man ,but he will be back for 1.30pm because I am at the dentist at 2pm (I had either a filling or partof my tooth fall out.} don't want any problems while we are away next week,
Better get on with the ironing. Take care

badger Report 15 May 2012 08:18

Morning to all,a lot warmer down here ,lol,i should have towed the greenhouse down to give the tomatoes a treat :-D.
You keep your eye on that leg Brenda ,until the specialist finds out just what is causing the problems, mine is darned painful too ,but at least i know mine is osteo arthritis, and at the minute ,i can control the pain ,you need to nurse your leg for the time being. :-).
Felt a right twonk when we got down ,some silly bu**er left the dongle at home ,he he ,so i had to go into Swindon to get a new one .
T-mobile sold me a pay as you go one ,which only charges you for what you use ,as you use and dosn't affect the contract dongle ,not so bad,and next time we go away i can take both ,so the missus can go online at the same time as me ,using the other puter.
Cant go out this morning ,we are waiting for The engineer to come out to fit Virgin broadband For the grandson, and we are also expecting a locksmith to replace the lock on the garden shed ,which broke as Sean shut the door after putting the lawn mower in :-),told him he did it so that he couldn't mow the lawn, lol.
Hope you are still getting to look in Dorothy ,we are a little short handed on here without you :-( but when the engineer has finished setting the broadband up ,i will be able to get back on here ,and send you an email :-D.
Catch you later peeps ,take care , :-D ;-)

Did a bit of shopping before hand but leg was just as painful so gave up and went to the resturant early, had a cup of tea while i waited.
Did walk about abit longer before it got to bad so i suppose there is a bit of an improvement..
The city was getting ready for the parade of Manchester City football club with the championship trophy
Can not wait till next week when we will hopefully be in the sunshine.!!
Hope Freds journey went ok and he is enjoying his visit.
Take care Brenda.

Evening all ,Fred is now knackered after spending three hours in the garden ,putting in most of my Brassica [only one row left to do in two weeks] putting the anti pest dust ,slug pellets and windmills [to keep the ruddy pigeons away, and checked the car over prior to tomorrows trip down to Brize Norton ,with the grandsons ruddy computer.
This thing ,if the size of the boxes is anything to go by ,must be nearly as big as the Bletchley park Colossos that was built in the last world war ,and a darned size more powerful,by the time i have the five boxes intro the car ,our luggage will have to go on the back seats ,and in the rear floor well :-(.
Just about finished the packing and will be starting off early in the morning to hopefully miss the worst of the traffic. :-).
Time i think ,for a sit outside with the cat and a coffee before the sun gets watery as it's apt to do at this time of year ,but there are a few more minutes worht of warm in it's rays yet.
Catch you all tomorrow in the sunny south ,i hope , take care all . :-D xxx

Manage to get to Bury yesterdaymon the tram, did not do much just went to the places I needed things from then cam home.New meds seem to be kicking in as there was not as much pain,!! I still had pain but it took longer to come on and was not as intense!!
When I cam home I tried the blue cheese on crumpet ,but used a crumpet loaf not a normal crumpet ,and it was really tastey!!! Will try on normal crumpets next week. Out and about agin today to the library,my sisters as its my neices birthday tomorrow and the food shopping,
Hope all is well with everyone else and you have a good weekend. Brenda

Brenda Report 10 May 2012 12:51

Hi all.Well Fred i was wondering what to have for lunch when you mentioned the bluecheese and crumpets,!! Only the crumpets are in the freezer,!!!!but will get them out for tomorrow.!1we are now having some soup,it is tinned but they were a very good buy from the B&M store nearby.!! Should have gone to town today but the weather and some jobs I need to do in the house stopped me going. But with I bit of luck I am off to Bury either tomorrow or Saturday.
A few of my old mates are at the new one,but the way it works is that you are in a certian group that covers four libraries and you canbe rota'd on to any one of them,,many a time I have been at a different library each day!! But there can be weeks when you are at the same library ,it depends on what is going on at the library that day and what you have been trained to do.!!
Better get that soup on as its getting a bit nippy again,Have some leeks to do \ aleek and potato soup for tomorrow. yum
Take care ,Brenda

Any more for the skylark?,H M S Newcastle is leaving port,on the way to Wallsend ,calling at all shops ,and stores on the way ,and towing rafts on the stern for all parcels [covered in tarpaulion ] to keep them dry .
Anyone hopping on board to supply your own wet gear and wellies.no animals please ,we do not have life preservers for them .
Well ,you have to laugh ,don't you ? :-D :-S

badger Report 8 May 2012 16:38

Don't forget the Kingsmill crumpets ,and the blue cheese and tomato's our Lass ,just the thing to take the hunger pangs away until you settle in when you get back home ,lol :-).
Already done ours this morning ,and ,plurry hell ,forgot the main thing we went for ,Rhubarb ,i use for planting my brassica out ,a little piece in every hole keeps virus and wireworm away from the roots, the rest i get the lass to make me some crumbles for the freezer ,weeell ,you can't waste good fruit ,can you ? ;-).
Any of your old crew working at the new Library Brenda? or have they all been forcibly retired do to council cuts like so many of my friends out of the local offices and town hall.? seems a shame ,we were doing so well still with our local council still under the liberals ,then ,as soon as Labour got back in the knives came out and the lay offs started, our new council even starting to charge for green bin collections ,another stealth tax by Labour grrrrr.
We are glad we have started booking our rooms with the hotel chain ,instead of Haven ,with the jubilee and the kids holiday season starting they have started the rip offs a four night break at Carla has gone up to £400 plus ,and you can get a full week in Cyprus for that ,in the sunshine via Thompsons.
The government start it all by refusing the working class time out to take their kids on holiday during term time when the poorer workers can at least get cheaper booking so they can't afford to go ,the holiday parks pick up on this and shove their prices up to make a killing ,and the government shove extra taxes on to the holiday parks via higher tax ,and rates and holiday homes .result ,government win again ,at every ones expense, what a plurry carve up :-|.
Well ,i is off to do my crumpets ,yum ,after i have fed this cat ,who is now sitting right in front of my puter screen ,lol ,not daft is she :-D :-) xxx

Looks like you ,me ,and Dorothy will be doing indoor B B Qs this holiday Brenda,it is supposed to be ,at least -3c here tonight into tomorrow morning ,and i have got the background heater in the greenhouse on standby ,too many plants in there to lose at this stage of the spring.
I don't know what made me wait for the planting of the Parsnip .but it's just as well i held off ,the one batch i have in already are in a trough which i can put into the greenhouse for a few days ,but the others ,going into a box will have to wait a couple of weeks ,until things improve ,Parsnip do not like cold ,wet loam and will just rot in the ground :-(.
I am going to have a look on the net to see if there are any buses from southport to Bury ,via Manchester ,it would be a day out ,and better still ,i could leave the car in Liverpool and be a lazy git for the day ,lol. once we are in the Hotel ,i intend using the car as little as possible ,making a good amble around even better 'cause i can have a half of lager in safety :-D.
The latest parcel to arrive here for the grandson makes 5 all told ,don't know if he thinks i have a truck instead of a car but if i get any more ,i will have to ship some down by carrier ,and this time ,i will charge him for them, because three of them are big ,and heavy . :-0.,he will not be best pleased ,but i don't know why he just didn't wait to order them until he got back home .
Have to go to the shops now ,a few things i need to get for the weekend .
Catch you all later ,Fred. :-D :-)

That's a favourite light tea of mine Brenda ,three Kingsmill crumpets ,cooked until the tops are semi firm ,spread with a light covering of blue cheese ,and slid back under the grill to brown off a slice of tomato ,nice .light and just the job for something, just before bedtime.
Been out nearly all day with the birthday girl ,gave her £60 this morning threatening to do her a mischief if she didn't spend every penny on herself ,brought her a,bunch of mixed flowers ,picked up the last of the stuff for the garden ,from Cramlington ,and then took her out for her dinner at a carvery,he he ,worth every penny ,and then some to see the look on her face ,after pretending this morning that i had forgotten what day it was ,lol <3.
So much for the dry day we were promised ,lol,it started to rain on the way home at 1-30 ,and it's still chucking it down, hmmmmmm ,looks like my new barrel is getting plenty of water in it to hold it down when it gets windy out back.
:-).
Nothing else going on here today ,so i might just have an early night ,Catch you later all ,Fred. :-D ;-)
