Hi Everybody. I am trying to find anybody who worked at the Field Place Approved Home in Milton. I would also like to hear from anybody who could direct me to the place where the records of Patients are held. Field Place is now closed, and a Hotel took its place, however even the present Hotel is soon to be demolished to make way for more housing development, so I am informed. I had a Sister who was born with many defects in the 1940's, and she was shut away in Field Place Home for medical reasons only. I have found her buriel place in New Milton, but would like to find the records of her detainment at the home, there may even be picture's of her in the records Regards Tom Toomey (The brother of) Maureen Patricia Toomey. you may get some help with this if you put it on the Records board. The general thread moves too quickly that this will probably get lost. Good Luck Shirley

Thomas, you could also try the Hamphire records office

http://www.hants.gov.uk/record-office/

Failing that, try googling the name of the home. You may be able to find some contact details from a search that way.

Hampshire County Council may also have some records, just google for the site.

My grandparents lived in New Milton and I do vaguely remember the name of the home, but don't know anything about it.
