Well good morning to you all. Another cold bleak day here, not raining tho - I better get dressed today, yesterday I stayed in my gown till I went out .. lol I actually had a find today - on the 1841 census. Just a confirmation more or less. .. This looking up on the net certainly beats hours of reading a fiche. Goodness me, 9.30 - I really must get going. Thanks for your romantic family tale Tony! Well congratulations Tony & Barb. That's exciting news. We love bubbies. Niece Belinda is having her first ultrasound tomorrow. Gotta see how many are in there, as Tim's grandmother was a twin! Guests are about to leave, be back shortly. Lew Lew xxx |

Congratulations Granpa. I heard the grandaughter of my dutch friend call her grandmother by a name - I asked what it was - Oma - I rather like that name. .. Don't like granny, grandma, nanna, marnie (as they have been taken by predecessors) - my youngest grandaughters from Bendigo 6 & 7 call me Dot - and that is rather special (dont ask me why they call me that - it was their own idea - its funny when they get together with their 6 yo cousin in Perth who calls me Judy - they sort of look at me and back to each other !) - I wonder if Lucas's mother would let him call me Oma? :)) .. At the moment, she tells him I'm Granny .. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr lol (Just as well he doesnt understand yet). Oh well, back to the drudge of housework. (I only sat down for a tick to rest my back) Jood |

Morning all, Another hot steamy Jakarta day, and we are off over the road to Pasar Bagi . . . the lovely Ray wants to find some cases for all the reps back home to put their little phones in! Joodles, Omah & Opah are the names given to grandparents in lots of different countiries - The dutch influence here in Indonesia introduced that word many moons ago - my own Danish gtgrands were known as Omah & Opah, and my German friends - I think it sounds lovely. We have a lovely friend here called Omah Sonia, everyone calls her that ! Ah Tony, love a little romance story - well done for uncovering the mystery of the scratched photo . . . but isn't it interesting that she kept the photo - and hung it on the wall ! Congrats on the new fishing partner !!! I have just had a gr msg from a rellie on a line that had gone cold on me ages ago . . so am wishing I could hang around and make contact . . . . but the Pasar is calling so will close for now and catch you all later cheers luv Laurie |

Afternoon all :) Love your stories Laurie, and what an exciting mystery Tony. Feeling a bit tired today - didn't sleep too well last night. Might have a nanna nap. Glad you got there and back safely Jood. The Koreans have similar sounding words to Omah and Opah (don't know how theirs is spelt) but theirs are for mum and dad. Quiet day today - John is out boating even though it was wet and foggy this morning. ~~~~~~~~~~ to all. catch you later, Vonny |

And a good, good afternoon to all the Wonderful Waflers. It's overcast here now(2pm) so fingers X X'd we might get some more rain. Crew...has Terry given you his cold? Start on the echinacea and garlic...it'll work wonders. And, of course, plenty of fluids.....Cab-Sav, Chardy, Merlot. You should also try my Martini recipe....one bottle......sorry...part...lol..each of gin and sweet & dry vermouth. Wont help the cold but you will feel better. Laurie...your friend sounded like a wonderful person, obviously a man of honour not to have married anyone else. Tony....what an interesting story....it would make a good movie. Titled....'Tony, the singing detective, and the case of the missing grand-dad'. Adds a bit of spice tothe family tree. Anna...got Katherine's photo....she looks amazing. I like the 'back-lighting'. I'll show it to Mark, he's always looking for ideas for his photos. Hi Vonny....I hope your not coming down with something. Probably just overtired from your trip. Have a good nanny nap. Joodles....if you're in the mood for housework you can do mine. I can't seem to get interested in it for some reason. If you want a good 'grandma' name you should ask Crew. She does a great job thinking of nicknames. Waves ~~~~~and hugs to all of you mad lot. I think it's coffeetime. love Trifley X |

Greetings your Majesty and thank you for the vote of confidence in my ability to come up with names. I shall put my thinking cap on and see what inspires me, lol. And thank you for your martini recipe. I see that it also doubles as paint stripper, how versatile! Overcast and cold here and still a bit of rain in the air. Terry's just having a nap and I'm chatting with Jood. Lazy afternoon, after our guests left. I should be making up the guest room, but there's alway tomorrow, lol! Tony, all that info you sent me has been fantastic. It's a whole new branch of the family and I have been busy entering it all into my tree. I may need some further help and I'll get back to you, if that's okay. It's exciting when you find something new. I like Trifley's idea for your book. You are a bit of a detective, aren't you. Vonny, you take it easy. It sounds like delayed jetlag and I prescribed a few glasses of merlot, but don't try Trifley's martini, we don't want you out for the count, lol. Hope everyone is having a relaxing afternoon. Hugs and kisses to you all Lew Lew xxx |

Good Afternoon girls and granpa Laurie you sound to be havinbg a wonderful time are youtaking plenty of pickles? Sorry to hear about your very good friend, he sounded wonderful. Trifley, did nefer and the boys get home safely. We caught them moonlighting in the naughty corner yesteday. It's hard to keep good staff these days. Trying out for pole dancing they were. I sugest you get them some collars and maybe male chastity belts. LOL Congratulations Tony, Neville only managed to produce daughters and grandaughters but now he has got to the greats and he is getting boys. Skipped a couple of generation for him so you are lucky. Can't stay long today. I am into extra MG and i am trying to add up what I use, I think the meter is going at double speed so I am trying to catch them out. We are also waiting for some one to come and look at our old car. I put it in the Trading Post and I had a call at 10.45 last night. Ofcourse I was wrapped up in bed hard and fast asleep. Guess who couldn't get back to sleep. What a time to call. I am guessing that they won't even turn up today. Hope everyone is well, glad you enjoyed your dinner last night Jood. BTW not much rain, drizzle is all we got and now we are back to sunshine. Take care be back tomorrow Luv |
