Does anyone have Catherine WILSHER (married name) in their tree, please? She was born 1850 (nee BURGESS) and died 1933 in Gt. Bardfield, Essex. She was the second wife of Edwin Albert WILSHER (1859-1952) whose first wife Martha Jane WILSHER (nee KNIGHT) was born 1859. They married in 1880, but when did he marry Catherine? I understand that she had previously been his housekeeper in Fulham, London, although she is shown as a straw platter living with her parents in Gt. Bardfield, in 1871. Mabel Jane WILSHER (b1890) recalled that she took on his six children, which implies that it was at least post 1893 (Martha Jane WILSHER?s birth) or possibly 1895 if the seventh child (Florence Kate) was also Martha?s? I wonder if Martha Jane?s birth was the cause of her mother?s death (as they share the same name) and whether Florence was Catherine?s child, as her middle name is Kate? An added complication is that Martha Jane appears to be shown (visiting another address) on the 1901 Census.
