Thanks for your help folks - the Slumberland is one of those we were looking at cos it's on offer at the mo. and also one at Sleepmasters similar price so will decide tomorrow. Asked the salesman about the heat problem and he said he would throw in a thinner duvet for us - ours is a new 15 tog one bought for the winter. Would love to wake up feeling refreshed for a change - maybe I'd get more done then. Cheers, Liz |

I have one of the mattresses that you mention. Yes, its very comfy but I find the downside is that it makes me very hot. I never have heating on in the room and use a summer weight duvet all the year round. I think it must be because it is pure foam and not sprung. Margaret |

We have a top of the range Slumberland and we are biiiig! He is 6'8' and I am appropriately far too large. Not a hippo and a duck, just two hippos. After two years ours is still blissfully comfortable and feels just as it did when we bought it.We hate getting up! |

I redecorated my mums bedroom for her birthday last May and she treated herself to a new bed and one of those mattresses whilst we were on. Mum's always only managed a few hours sleep a night due to being uncomfortable and restless - she now sleeps about 7 hours every night and only wakes up if she needs the loo! Really made a difference to her life. |

Before you all think the worst, due to an increase in weight on both sides, the bed base is broken! Yesterday I looked at one of those new beds with the memory foam topped mattress - it felt sooo comfy but do they really work? Has anyone bought one in the last year and are you happy with it? It's a lot of money to pay out if the foam collapses after a while so thought I would ask if anyone has test-driven one first. Polite comments only please - others in a plain brown envelope LOL ------ NEW BED ARRIVING TODAY (Tues) MEMORYFOAM TOPPED MATTRESS - early night tonight for me to try it out! |
