Stephen, I am using the Gendesigner application, which allows you to create each individual separately. A box is created which you can drag anywhere on the tree and then link it (spouse, parent) to other boxes. Object-oriented programming. <g> Gendesigner saves in its own format, filename.g3d, and you also have the option of saving in gedcom 5.5 standard.
