Thanx ladies

Well I went to the doctors and wat a waste of that that was

He gav me steroids and ain't biopics for me chest infecton

I told home everything I wanted to say

He said I had to go back to slimming world and sort my eatin disorder out

He said my breathing was fast, I had to blow in a brown bad

As for wat happened last week I had to get over it and move on and forget the oast

And me I just can't stop crying again

AnninGlos Report 29 Nov 2013 17:39

No Michelle, it was not a waste of time. He has given you medication for your chest infection and good advice about your weight. He is obviously worried about you if your breathing was fast. did he suggest counselling? did he suggest how you sort your eating disorder out?

As for the other, in a way he is right, he wants you to concentrate on you, put last weekend behind you for now, when you have got yourself back on track, when you are stronger, you can look at ways of sorting out the other problem. <3

Tinkers you say your Dr upped your tablets. What are you on and what dose? Are you able to sleep during the day? If you can't sleep at night a rest in the day with relaxation techniques often brings on sleep. The ABC one is a good one. I like the fantasy of a beautiful sandy bay, blue water gently lapping onto the soft sand. The sun shining onto me keeping me warm. You can add your own thoughts to this and make up a story you like. Or the squeeze and relax method. Lay on your bed or somewhere quiet on your own. Squeeze your toes for ten seconds and release, ten seconds. Squeeze your feet hold ten seconds, release ten seconds. Squeeze your lower leg muscles for ten seconds.........work this way slowly up to your neck head eyes and face. Squeezing the muscles and releasing. As you said you like music you can have some in the back ground. Day at a time slowly you'll recover. Don't try to rush a recovery as that adds stress. Let your mind rest. Panic attacks are horrible. I learnt a skill to stop them altogether. It is to go with it. Don't try distracting yourself from them. Know it can't and wont harm you. Feel the rush of it, let it work its way out of you. When its finished relax. Take deep breaths hold them and slowly let the air out. You're still alive! Practise this every time you have one and I promise you it will eventually stop. We (on here) also like Rescue Remedy a little bottle from Boots the Chemist or similar, keep it handy and use when you need a little back up. Use a couple of drops as many times as you need. Hope some of this helps xx

tinkers, try and take the good bits from the doctor like the meds and such and advice re slimming world and act on those. Also try the sleeping techniques Carol has told you about and make yourself eat little and often to help keep your strength up and fight any more infections colds etc.

Have you got a Wellness clinic in your area? I think you can self refer to them and they sometimes assess you over the phone and then offer more help. Keep pushing for more support even if you have to do it yourself. Maybe contact MIND to see if you can go on their Counselling lists, you have to pay but only what you can afford.

Show whoever is upsetting you that you can fight back. If you get a panic attack just try the Rescue Remedy, I have mentioned it before but you don't say if you have tried it. It really helps me when I am stressed.

Lots of luck, it's a new month tomorrow so let it be a new phase for you and do one small step at a time

Love

Lizxx

Your husband sounds very kind and supportive to you. While you're not feeling well couldn't he make some of the phone calls to places to get you back up? I know its hard to make yourself do things when you feel so low. These things going on in your life are not making you low its a chemical imbalance in your brain. And when you get taking ALL your meds properly these things will not upset you so much. You will cope from a stronger position mentally. I have been on 40 mg citalopram for years. Give your 30mg a few months it may sound a long slog now, but with relaxation not taking on other peoples worries, and looking after yourself you will get better. Listen to the good advice you are given on here we have been through some terrible low times and have helped each other through. We might not be cured, be we are living more normal lives and coping day by day. You must help yourself. Take on what we tell you. Recovery isn't something that comes in a week or two, just by taking tablets. Its by making yourself push each day to do a little and feel safe doing that. Then try a little further. A walk outside your house will gradually become a day out away from home with minimal bother xx

Try buying rescue remedy on line if it could be quicker than waiting for your next day at a chemist :-)
