TRYING TO FIND FATHER AND MOTHER OF WILLIAM DAVID KIRKWOOD BORN 1841 IN NEWCASTLE, DIED 1900 IN HARTLEPOOL. HE MARRIED ELIZA JANE ROBSON IN 1864, NEWCASTLE (SHE WAS BORN IN OXFORD). i HAVE THE MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE.(david kirkwood father, IRON MOULDER). CANNOT FIND ANY BIRTH RECORD FOR WILLIAM DAVID KIRKWOOD BORN NEWCASTLE CIRCA 1841, AT 5 MONTHS OLD HE WAS LIVING IN NEWCASTLE WITH RELATIVES MARY, MARGARET, ISABELLA AND DOROTHY. I SUSPECT THAT MARGARET IS POSSIBLY HIS MOTHER, BORN IN SCOTLAND AND THAT HIS FATHER DAVID IS A SCOT. I HAVE FOUND 2 MARRIAGES FOR A MARGARET PATERSON AND DAVID KIRKWOOD BOTH 1838 IN SCOTLAND. IF ANYONE CAN HELP FIND WILLIAM'S BIRTH RECORD AND PARENTS WOULD BE VERY GRATEFUL.

YES, I HAVE THIS INFORMATION. I AM SURE THAT EITHER MARGARET OR MARY KIRKWOOD IS WILLIAM'S MOTHER, CAN FIND NO REGISTRATION OR RECORD OR HIS BIRTH! HAVE SEARCHED 5 YEARS EITHER SIDE OF THE CENSUS. ANY HELP ON FINDING HIS BIRTH RECORD, AND PARENTAGE WOULD BE A GREAT HELP. THERE ARE TWO DAVID KIRKWOOD'S WHO COME UP IN THE RECORDS AS SEAMEN. WILLIAM CANNOT BE FOUND IN THE 1851 CENSUS, IT'S ALL RATHER ODD.

I have found records for William living with Eliza as a lodger, but no record of his mother or father. On his marriage certificate it says David Kirkwood is his father. Could David Kirkwood be the seaman found lodging, or the noe living with Sarah Kirkwood in the census?
