Any information please on the Tennyson Williams family of Lincolnshire early 1800s. John Williams married Elizabeth Harrison and their children had the middle name Tennyson. I'm trying to prove or disprove family rumours that the children are related to Lord Tennyson's family. All born in Great Grimsby. If anyone has access to Lincs parish registers, that would be great.

Many thanks for your interest. I do know that Elizabeth Harrison was christened 23 May 1790 in Aylesby, Lincolnshire. The children were christened between 1813 and 1823 in Grimsby. All had the middle name of Tennyson except one. they were Margaret Tennyson, b 1813, Thomas Tennyson, b 1815, Harriett Tennyson, b 1816, Mary Ann, b 1817, Trevor Tennyson, b 1820, Rachel Tennyson, b 1821 and John Tennyson, b 1823.
The father, John Williams was a mariner but that is all I know about him. I believe that Elizabeths father was called Thomas and her mother Mary.

Alfred Tennyson, Lord Tennyson (1809-1892) http://www.englishverse.com/poets/tennyson_alfred
1809-1892 Alfred Tennyson was born in Somersby, Lincolnshire, one of eight children. As well as being educated privately by his father, he was educated at Louth Grammar school, and at Trinity College Cambridge where he won the chancellor's medal for english verse in 1829. In 1831 his father, who had previously suffered a physical and mental breakdown, died, and Tennyson left Cambridge early without a degree. In 1833, he became engaged to Emily Sellwood, although he did not marry her until 1850. Tennyson is buried in Westminster Abbey. A biography of him by his son was published in 1897

I thought there might be a connection between either Lord Tennysons father or his uncle Charles. It is rumoured that the Williams family were tennants on a Tennyson estate and that Elizabeth paid the rent in kind. They might just have been grateful to the Tennysons for being good landlords and named their children after them but why not all of them?
I need to see the parish record of at least one of the children.
I was stuck on another line of my family until I saw the parish record said in small letters "illigitimate son of..."
I don't know if I subscribe to find my past or ancestry.com if it is possible to see the actual image of the record. Perhaps someone could tell me.
