Do you have the death certificate and if so, who is the informant? Have you tracked the informant back to see if it is a family member who you might be able to find on the census?

yes i do have his death certificate and on it was his wifes name [ emma ] weales ,she was there at his death.i or other members of the family still cannot find his birth registration

Nearest I could find on 1881 but places and ages all wrong.
