Hi Georgina

Hannah Batson the wife of William Reading, was my 3rd cousin 2x removed.

Your father I prosume was Edward Reading b 1945 and later married Iris Rossiter. you are 1 of 4 have 2 younger sisters Leslie & Sarah, and 1 young brother Graham.

So that makes us 5th cousins.

Hello Georgina

I was at school with Readings in Ham, Richmond (Surrey) in the 60s, and I know that there are some still in the area (although possibly with married names now). An ad in the local paper might produce something.

Researching:
Hill, Jewell - Cornwall. Langley-Shropshire,Cole, Neate -Wiltshire,Lott, Ewell- Kent.Punter, Gadd, Wapshott, White, Weston - Surrey. To say nothing of the other half's family!

Thanks everyone for replies. Have got a lot of info from census. Sorry i know that I put the msg on two threads was only meant for one, thought I had deleted one of them. Thanks dee for some of your info, I don't know who the Weller family is, I have a copy of it from the census. Not been able to find a birth for William Reading 1912, don't think his parents registered him for some strange reason? William married Hannah Batson Aug 1940.
Didn't realise that I would get so many msgs, thanks again.

I still can't see a birth for your Grandfather William......... who did william marry?


There are to possible births for Ivay in 1906, 1 in Frome and 1 in Romford.

Am trying to find out about my grandfathers family. His name William Reading born we were told 1911/1912. He had 3 sisters Hilda b1908, beatrice b1905, Ivy b1906 and 1 brother john b 1913. His parrents were William and Ada and they lived in 1911 in Richmond. Can anyon help?
