He was the first Beckley in Tubney in Berkshire, there are no Beckley's in the parish records before him.I know that he married Elizabeth Taylor at Fyfield, Berkshire on 22/11/1813. It states on the marriage certificate that Daniel was not of this county (Berkshire). Any help would be appreciated.

	I think you'll find that the marriage register (not cert) states that he was 'not of this Parish', rather than County. That would be the normal way of recording info about someone on the Parish register

	You can't get a certificate for any bmd event before 1837

	Terence I think you may be right about his birthplace being Oxfordshire-there are quite a few in the parishes just north of Fyfield but no Daniel !! You could Ask Margaret Rose who offers Oxfordshire look ups if she could check Islip for you(I will nudge up her thread on Records) Oxfordshire FHS has nearly completed a Baptism Index for all of the present day Oxfordshire(includes North Berkshire) They have a search service for a modest fee www.ofhs.org.uk Try the OFHS Surnames list-there are two people on there reseaching Beckley they may be able to help you www.oxill.org.uk (think that is right but OXILL will find it !!)
