GUIDANCE FOR A NEWBIE PLEASE

Hope you don't mind me posting for a little clarification please re the boards and the deleting/not deleting of posts. I am in need of some guidance please.

I am new to GR and posted for the first time over the Christmas break. I posted a couple of queries (separately as I was not aware that I should keep them all in the same thread, until GR members kindly pointed this out to me) I attempted to copy one into the other (didn't really know how to though) and (somehow) managed to delete a part of the research which has kindly been carried out for me by GR members - Sorry.

Clearly, I didn't know how to amalgamate the two (and stil don't know how to) - are there any guidelines somewhere on GR which will assist me in linking threads etc.

Don't worry, all is not lost, I copied the thread into a Word document in case I had problems so I do have a copy of all the research which has kindly been done for me.

How do I put it back up and how do I amalgamate threads please someone?

I note that, on the left, there is a menu mentioning "stickied" threads - is this something to do with what I want.

Sorry to be so thick!!!!

Barbara , the 'stickied threads' are another thing, usually from GR admin themselves like the one at top of page.

You can't really amalgamate two threads , which is why it's better to stick to one per family , however if you DO have two threads that have overlapping families etc you can always put the link to first thread on the second.

eg "Previous query on..."

which is THIS thread,

Ah right OK, many thanks for the clarification

As I say, I do have a copy of the info that was in the thread I "lost" so, if anyone wants me to, I can cut and paste it into the original thread

Thanks for the guidance

I was going to suggest that you can actually copy and paste the info from one thread into the other then delete the superfluous thread. Don't worry though, we all had to learn some time.
