Hi I am trying to trace a John Riley and his daughter Ellen. Ellen was born 1892 +/- 1 year and married in 1918 (to Ernest Barker in Dukinfield, Cheshire). At that time her father was deceased but his former occupation is given on her marriage certificate as 'moulder'. Ellen and Ernest lived in Stalybridge and Ellen died in December 1919 shortly after the birth of her son Leslie (my husbands stepfather). I am trying to find relatives of Ellens as Les has no known relatives on his mothers side (and never knew his mother). Ellen and Ernests wedding was witnessed by a Frank Buckley who Les met about 25/30 years ago (or it could have been son of Frank also called Frank). This man said Ellen came from Cheatham Hill (although we dont know if he meant she was born there or just lived there prior to meeting and marrying Ernest). All help and advice appreciated.
