Could someone see if they can find an ELIZA SOPHIA KNUBEL(L) born abt 1850 possibly in Whitechapel on the 1861 census. Thank you very much. It's an unusual surname so hopefully there won't be too many possibles. I would like to see if she's with family and where they are living.

Thanks for looking. I think it must be Reg, the name is quite unusual. I haven't been able to find her birth registered - looked on free bmd at all knubels. Does it say where her parents were born, occupations, address etc.

Parents were born Germany Leese is obviously Eliza with a German accent..... Birth registration wasn't compulsory until 1875........ If you'd like to have the image.send me your e-mail address via PM. Reg

Thanks Reg. Just been over on Free BMD checking the same thing. Don't know why Leese's birth wasn't registered. The parents seem very old don't they. That is her marriage. Her and John Kruse are my gt gt grandparents. Hope I have better luck with German ancestors than my Irish ones!!
