Please would it be possible for some kind person to do a search for a Susannah Searle and her father William Searle (Lincolnshire Area)? I have the marriage certificate of Susannah Searle (my gt gt grandmother) who married John Glendy Bland in 1858 in Thorney Cambridgeshire. I believe Susannah could have been born around 1833-34 and possibly near Crowland. I have all the relevant information on the Bland family when living at Thorney but William and Susannah Searle are still a mystery for me. I would be very grateful for any help if possible. Many thanks David

This could be William's baptism: IGI Individual Record FamilySearch™ International Genealogical Index v5.0 British Isles Search Results | Download | Pedigree WILLIAM SARLES Male Christening: 04 MAR 1827 Crowland, Lincoln, England Parents: Father: JOHN SARLES Family Mother: MARY from www.familysearch.org - there are some other Sarle baptisms around that date, nothing later. nell

Thanks Nell for the info On the marriage certificate (marriage at Thorney) of Susannah I have her father's name as William Searle profession being that of a servant. Do you think she may have given her brothers name on the marriage certificate? There still seems to be a mystery over this family and I dont seem to be able to pin them down for some reason. Best wishes David

Sorry not thinking - yes, that William isn't the right vintage to be her dad. But perhaps her dad was called William, and this William is his nephew - maybe John and William (Susanna's dad) were brothers. I bet THEIR dad was called either John or William too!!! nell

Thanks to you all for looking into this family for me. I am now wondering if the name given as William (father of Susannah) might have been just the name the he was called by and his real name might possibly being John? Regards David
