I'm not sure if this is covered but can anyone check the NBI for a burial of John Burke who died 1893 in Mile End, London. Also if anyone has a spare moment could they also please check for a Thomas and Nancy Crabtree who would both have died Ovenden or Halifax, West Yorks in the 1860s. Many Thanks Sara

If they don't turn up with a search on NBI 2nd Ed, then you need to check all the churches within the district that the death was registered, unfortunately. If you know the actual date he died, then you can ask the church to look up the burial register within a fortnight of the death date. IF there was an inquest or any other reason for delay of burial, it will say something line "inquest held " on the death cert, so let the church know this when asking for a lookup. Are you sure the people in question where buried, ? or any chance they were cremated ? Elaine :-)

Thank you so much for looking Elaine most of the churches in Mile End/Tower Hamlets have been checked my only other option is the large Tower Hamlets Cemetery which as I understand is now a nature park. sara
