It took me a while to understand what was happening in this book. I thought I was reading a simple little tale of life in an Irish village when a stranger comes along; perhaps along the lines of a Maeve Binchy book. However, gradually it began to dawn on me that there was a sinister thread running through it. The real story began to unfold in bits and pieces and I started to read faster and faster. It was all very cleverly done and I look forward to reading future books by Niamh Boyce.
