Shame you haven't had any replies Patricia. I am sure there must be some jewellery makers on here somewhere. I know of two on facebook but theya re no longer members here. My Grandson's wife also makes jewellery but she isn't on here either. If I only had the time I would love to have a go but with card making and scrap booking I daren't start another hobby.

Quilting too is a grat hobby and I have seen some wonderful examples of quilts. again there used to be an Australian member on here who did quilting but she too is not longer a member. Keep trying though, you never know somebody might come forward.

Actually I do know of somebody I'll give her a nudge.

How long have you been making jewellery Patricia? I go to a weekly class where we make beaded pieces and do some wirework, but have never used gemstones yet. I do like to watch jewellerymaker on the 665 channel and love some of the stones they sell like Labradorite.

I have sold a few pieces in the past at an exhibition, but nothing on a regular basis. Where do you sell yours?

I've been making it on and off for a long time. Mostly for myself and family. However I too have been watching JM and bought a couple of kits and also got inspiration from their designers. I've recently sold a few pieces on Facebook but I am stocking up to do a craft fair in the summer.

That's a good idea Patricia. You need quite a few pieces for a stall at a fair. I hope to do the same when I have accumulated enough. My sister seems to have given a home to quite a few of mine up to now!!

We are using chain with leather and beads this week at class. The leather and chain seems to be an 'in' thing at the moment.

Me too Joan.........trying to conquer peyote that is! :-) I have a lovely pattern for a peyote ruffle and just need to check I have all the beads I need.

I've done some wirework. Things like herringbone weave earrings (saw on youtube!) Also some wire caged beads and some wire and bead candle holders that were pretty and I did a tiara and fascinator day class that was good. I've not tried bead embroidery though, except a bit on some flowers on a felted bag I made.

Hi
Bead embroidery is addictive ad almost any design can be beaded give it a go.Still finding the first two rows of peyote hard I'm ok once I've done those!! Have you tried any of the Christmas kits from Spellbound?

No I haven't Joan although I have bought 3 of their necklace kits. I usually take one away on holiday with me to do when I get bored with tv or reading at night. I must have a look at their website and see if they show the Christmas kits. :-)

I have managed to conquer the straightforward even peyote I think and done about a third of a necklace that was in a magazine. Mind you, I found it easier to follow the pictures than read the pattern! I'm doing a day class in a few weeks where we are doing peyote flowers including poppies so I'm looking forward to seeing how I get on there.

I went to a great day workshop today to make a lovely peyote bead puffy star. I shall be making more as they will be lovely to go on the Christmas tree. I will send AnninG a photo for the blog when I have finished it.

I don't quilt but I do patchwork which I have sent off to a lady in Dorking who has an incredible computerized machine and charges quite an eye-watering sum of money to quilt it properly.

Somebody gave me a bag of 1" rosettes she had made but given up on using. i made a lot of them into lavender bags which I sold and now i am utulizing Fred's bedding to make a rose garden patchwork.
