Jan,
Just wanted to check what the H was on the marriage certificate - in case it was actually Harold (or Howard).
Trying to see if he were illegitimate and only took the Hancox name later on, but cannot see a suitable Clasby or Green.
Not finding a Les Brettnal.

Added:
Bretnall exists, but cannot see any Les connection.

Patchem, I think the H is for Harry - I located the death on Ancestry:

Name: Leslie Harry Hancox
Birth Date: 31 Aug 1915
Date of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec 1982
Age at Death: 67
Registration district: Birmingham
Inferred County: West Midlands
Volume: 32
Page: 0811

But - just to add to the confusion?!!

Name: Harry Leslie Hancox
Birth: 6 Sep 1912
Death: Dec 1982 - Wolverhampton, West Midlands, England

I cannot see any records for Brettnal (whether Les or something else)
Do you know of an alternate spelling?
Do you know what the H was short for, in Leslie H Hancox?
Do you know if Ted and Ivy were younger or older than Leslie?
Thank-you.

Have you got Leslie's Father's name from Leslie's marriage certificate?

I can see his death record (he was Leslie Harry it seems) but no corresponding birth interestingly. This makes it very tricky to pin down births of siblings.

I am trying to find any relatives, brothers, sisters or cousins of the late
LESLIE H HANCOX,in the BIRMINGHAM area, he was born in 1915, married in 1935 to BEATRICE WHISTON in B/ham, they had two daughters,JUNE & SHIRLEY. They lived in TOWER RD Aston, then moved to HANDSWORTH in the late 50s. Beatrice sadly died in 1960 due to a car crash,Les passed away in the late 80s. Les had a brother TED & a sister IVY, she had a shop in LONG ACRE, NECHELLS,.She was married to LES BRETTNAL,TED lived near the BAGOT PUB on CHESTER RD.
Any imformation would be very helpful.
