The address is there but you have to pay to view, but 5 years later she may not be there now anyway.

Did you manage to send a message to the person with the tree?

H,

it sound like you have the short version of the cert, this cert you have is it in your birth name or you new adopted name ?
if you have the full version of you orig cert, then you can try to marry some of the details up with the poss marriage, for instance the middle name is this Bernadette ? , in some cases the address given by the BM as her home address will match the home address on the marriage cert, occupation if she has given that on the BC then this may ls also match the marriage , and her age then you know what age she was when she had you, do the figures match up ?
This info is really important when your dealing with a common name or when you cannot find a birth for a BM in that area, it was not unusual for a BM to have been working away from the are she was born in and fell pregnant, or for pregnant young girl to be sent away to stay with another family member or a Mother and baby home in order to avoid any scandal so births and marriages are not always in the same area.
It may well be that she was born in Ireland came here and either worked here for a while, or gave birth and then returned home to Ireland after your birth.

I have mentioned twice about the tree on this site

Please go to the search trees dark green bar top of screen

Put in her name Bridget mcloughlin plus birth year

send a message to the other person with this name by clicking on find out more and you will then see she has the name of O'neil

She may no longer be a member but it is worth a try

Meant to say - if you are not local to Birmingham and want the address checking out let me know - via PM.

Well, I guess it might not, to be honest - you do have a point!! However, there might be a clue or two - where she is living being the obvious one.
I assume you were adopted from what you say. Have you seen every bit of info on your adoption file, and do you have your birth certificate?
None of this might help, but you need every bit of information you can get.

brummiejan

brummiejan Report 1 Mar 2012 16:35

Did you check out the address you have on the electoral register? It's only a slim chance it might help but you never know.
And you really need that marriage cert either to confirm or exclude that person as being your mother.
