My birth name was Susan Doerffer born 1951 in Islington, London, mum's name Mary Ada Jane Brett and Dad Henry John Brett. [ my mum was married twice so when I was born I was given her first husbands surname]...am searching for any family members . But in particular my youngest brother johnny. Possibly born @ mid to late 1950's .All my family were born in and around London, lambeth, hackney etc. my mums maiden name was Smith and she died in 1966. Myself and Johnny were brought up in foster care.I have managed to trace other family members my brother Fred, sister Barbara, neices and nephews etc....also looking for a school friend from Warwich Secondary girls school in Walthamstow Rosemary Titterton who's family at one time fostered my brother,

Looks like Rosemary married, like most women do. you'd perhaps be better searching in her married name ( Neate)

What surname was Johnny given when he was born? Same as you, or Brett?
Was he a john, Johnny or Johnathan when he was born?

Until we establish his correct name I think you are sunk

(looks like you were registered with both names by the way), Doerffer and Brett

Hi Rose....I was born in islington in 1951 , my next brother Fred was born in 1952..then my mum had another son,Johnnie / Johnny am not sure of birth date , it could be anything from 1954 - 1959......our mums maiden name was smith she was born in 1915..she married twice first to sidney doerffer and then to henry brett. All come from Hackney, lambeth so all based around the eastend London....He was fostered and could have eventually been adopted..so name may have changed as he grew up , but, surley his birth cert must of had his mums maiden name.........thanks Susan
