No-one doubts that.....but there is no record of a birth to match your info, which makes one think she may have been adopted.

Where did you get the info about her parents?

Did you ever meet them?

What happened to Helena? Did your mother leave her with the father?

Hi all I'm very very new to all of this emailing and posting thing so I'm sorry if I've got it wrong .
Getting back to Mother Yes RMA does stand for Rose mary Ann
and yes she was married to a D Nolan and she did have a Child a Daughter (Helen)
I think she meet up with my Dad in 1946/47 just after the war.
They wed in 1951 before that they had 3 children 2 girl's and a1 boy,
The 3 older sibling have I'm very sorry to say have died.

I've got a lot on my dad's side in fact we are back to the 1500, with help from a family member who For years I didn't know.
Mum keep things very close to her and woe betide anyone who stepped over the line as she would cut you down .

Apart from that she was a very kind and loving mother to all of us.

I'm assuming that the R M A stands for Rose Mary Ann

I imagine Nicholas will return at some stage....................

As the MMN was also Smith, even trying to look for births is futile without further info

This is the only Doris R A born to March 1923. and she subsequently marries, so not her:
Births Mar 1923
Pound Doris R A Baker Strood 2a 1196

Do you know what the M stands for in her marriage records?
Thanks

Added:
You have mentioned a daughter to the Nolan/Smith marriage, but there are 3 births in Ipswich, from 1942 to 1950. Do you know if these are siblings?

Mum told us that she was married to mr Noland and that he ansd she had a Daughter Helen, Mum met my Dad ( Leslie James Geaves) in around 1946.
After dad died in 1984 she remarried to Joseph Williams and I think that was in 1989. Mum Died 2011. I miss her so very much.

The person who placed the notice may not have had all the facts about her

BUT....................until the OP returns....it's all guesswork

His surname is GEAVES, and he has at least 6 siblings, according to freebmd

This is odd:

Has her maiden name as Geaves.

Puts her born c1923.

The first husband also re-married in 1951

It would seem that there may have been children from that first marriage

Look for the details on freebmd. Too recent to post on here

Buy her marriage cert...........it will name her father, if she knew him

One assumes you know roughly when she was born?

Have you tried looking for her birth?

Hi I hope some one may be able to help me find any one who may know about my Dear late mother Doris Rosemary Ann Geaves (Nee Smith)
When she was alive we found it very hard to find out anything about her past or anything of her brothers and sister.
I think she could have been born in Holloway in London or was It Ipswich, I don't know I know this is a long shot..
