Thankyou MarieCeleste. It is one we have discounted.

Detective, one of the searches we did said that they had access to up to date death records and he is not registered as having passed away. I have checked the site you suggested though and he is not showing on there.

It's so difficult as it just seems to be brick walls everywhere we turn.

Alex, I've sent you a message with details of someone of that name in the Darlington area from the 2012 ER. It's one that you may already have seen and discounted.

Trying to think outside the box.

Did they, or have you since, searched the Bona Vacantia estates? They are available since 1997 where Estates over £500 are listed where there in no Will or known heir.

It would seem that you can search for free after registering here (there may be other sites)

http://www.iwc-ltd.co.uk/genealogy-research__unclaimed-estates.html

If an Estate was Proved (with a Will) or granted Letters of Administration (without a Will) then you could pay for a search from the Probate Office. It they don't find one which fits the name , they don't tell you but keep the money - c£6.00
Even if they do, it might be the 'wrong' Dennis Haley.

Someone else did them, one of them was a company who have death searches up to present and he wasn't on any of them.
My only chance now i think is if people respond on here to the messages regarding connected people so we can build up a picture from when he was last seen.
Problem is we are up against time as he is getting no younger!
Thanks everyone so far!

What records did the paid serches throw up- did you do them or did someone else?

On balence of propbability, and since records only goup to 2005 on line, and he isn't very obvious ny where, there is a fair chance he's died since 2005, he 'd be 80odd

Hi
I have checked 192 and there is no one matching him. We have phoned many numbers that kind of match but not exactly and they are not him.

They have done the electoral role, deaths, and I think some kind of credit search, im not sure what else. They said its information that is available on the public domain but not everyone has access to.
His sister has been looking for 10 years!!

I have found people in trees on here that could have been connected and have sent messages but just awaiting a reply.
Don't really know what else to do!!

Alex, did the paid searchers give you a list of records they'd searched and the results of each?

Did he marry Doreen? If so, there look to be 3 children.

Hi
He went to visit his mother and sisters at their home in Bradford.
He did say he was working in a hospital in Darlington at the time.

Hi everyone
I am new to this (today) so need some help going in the right direction.
My partner is looking for a family member named Dennis Haley who was born in Bradford in 1935.
Dennis has 9 siblings but no one has seen him since 1982/1983.
We have paid for searches recently but these have come to nothing.
Any help is very very much appreciated.
Thank you!
Alex
