In which year was your mother born?

If his name isn't on your birth cert, why do you think this man was your father?

Why do you think that the name on your birth cert isn't accurate?

If your mother wasn't married, the father's name could only be on your cert if the man was there when the birth was registered - or he wrote a letter acknowledging paternity

There's no birth reg Dover for a George H Scott from 1925-1940

Edit :I missed the "I" was born in Dover . read it as George was born on Dover

He is named on my sisters birth certificate, trouble is he moved about so much, know he lived at bembridge on the Isle of Wight in 1967/68 as that's on my sisters birth certificate but myself n my other sister have different names on ours. But have been told he did live in tunbridge & I was born in Dover . Also. Told my sister with different name on her birth certificate looks the spit of him( we look alike)so all quite strange!
Thought if I find mona I may find him!!

Just a suggestion .would they be on the electoral rolls.

These won't be online but will be at the main library for the area .

Usually you need an address to do the search but maybe start where your family lived .

Is he named on the birth cert ? Maybe his address was too

Thanks Shirley, think this lady would be to old as she was friends with my mum so presuming she had kiddies of same age as my older sisters, it's all a bit like looking for needle in haystack, just know my sisters dad is George Harvey Scott & that he had sister called mona who my mum was good friends with before starting a relationship up with her brother!
My mum has died and the rest of family won't talk of him so can't seem to find out much!
