no one who knew him then is likely to see this thread in 100 years unless they google his full name for some reason :-)

(in the forum list look next to your thread title and you can see how many people have viewed it, and all the other threads on this board)

I see you have read my detailed private message ... hope it helps ...

... reply received :-)

Lisa you might have to spend a bit of money to get information ... that may or may not end up being useful

I would get the marriage certificate I referred to ... if it says the groom is a chef you would know you had the right man

this is where to order certificates

http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

(if you do, post when you receive it but don't put the personal information here, just whether you think you have found the right person)

and I will send you the marriage details privately, go to your message inbox to read it shortly

as for the messages you have sent, check in your sent messages box to see whether they have been read, if there is an envelope beside them then they have not been read

remember that not everybody checks their email every day ... but also if people have changed their email address and don't come to this site regularly they will not know they have messages

for others' info ... the person who may be CAR's wife is a member of this site and I have passed on related info to Lisa

could he have been already married when he lived with your mum?

it's just that there is a marriage for that name in 1970 in Hackney and that couple had only one child, 2 years later

there are actually 4 trees with Christopher Robertson born Edinburgh 1950 +/- 10 years ... does any of them belong to your son? (edit, sorry, I meant your brother)

the two that show a birthdate of 1940 could belong to the same person but it is worth sending messages to both accounts because one could have a current email address and the other not.

Have you looked to see if he is in anyone's tree on here, and tried to make contact that way?
