Trying to trace the children of Arthur Hansen b1909 d1972 and Olive Hansen

Their children were:

Kathleen Hansen b1939
Daisy Hansen b1941
Bernard Hansen b1945
Frederick Hansen b1949

Last known to be the Hastings Ontario area 1957 - 1968

was Arthur born in the UK?

2 births for that name in 1909

Arthur Stanley in Cardiff
Arthur Robert in Islington

full names can sometimes help with searching

also if you know Olive's full name before marriage

obituaries can sometimes be found on line and can give info like daughters' married surnames (but of course many women do not marry, or do not change their names), grandchildren's names ...


if you look on the internet Hastings is a village, very likely the younger generation has moved to a larger town or city

for instance canada411 shows two B Hansen listings in Toronto ...

Its Hastings County
Places known to have been in from census records show:
Trenton, Tweed and Belleville

Yes Arthur Stanley Hansen was born Cardiff 1909
He first went to Canada in 1925, destination named as the YMCA Ripley ON
Can find no marriage for Arthur, so Olive's maiden name is unknown

They did have another son, Arthur S Hansen b1945 but he died 1954 for which I have a record for:

But no sign of the other children

it's an extremely long shot but I wonder how many Kathleen Hansens there were in Canada who married 50 years ago and whose husbands were born in 1938 (that is, would match a dob of 1939 for her)

There are a lot of names in that obituary and you would probably be able to find contact info on line for some of them ... for example a niece with a rather unusual name is listed at canada411 and on LinkedIn where it gives her place of employment. It would not hurt to enquire.

the telephone listing for the couple seems still to be in the deceased's name

googling doesn't find much else for sure

at the canada411 site many of the Hansens in Trenton, Tweed, Belleville clearly come from a Scandinavian or perhaps Dutch clan ...
