I am looking for Scott who is believed to have moved to Canada with his mum Jenny when she re married. Another son was born but the only details I have are his name is Michael . My dad married Jenny sometime between Nov 69 and jan 70 and divorced 1975/1976 may have been filed in Darwin .

I would love to find them and any help is greatly appreciated .

Have you tried searching the Member Trees on GR and Ancestry?

Try http://www.canada411.ca/ the Canadian online phone book.

There are 7 Mctamney entries, one a plain S. Worth a shot?

Bear in mind that Scott may have taken his step-father's surname.

If you don't remove the actual DOB, someone may report your post

Hi! Re taking his fathers surname that could be a possibility as I'm sure his mother asked my dad but was refused . Have taken away the dob I didn't realise you couldn't list so thank u ! I have looked at the Canadian ones but it's not him . I was hoping to find his mother first as I thought that may be the easier route . I can't request a marriage certificate or divorce I've checked .

All help greatly appreciated x

Although Scott wasn't legally allowed to have his name changed, he may have been 'Known As' or even changed it by Deed Poll (or Canadian equivalent) when he became an adult.

Unless you know Jenny's second husband's surname/name it will be tricky trying to track them down.

there is a person by that name in Michigan USA who seems the right age shown in white pages

Michigan is a border state with Canada and it would not be unusual for someone who emigrated to Canada to emigrate again to the USA

... no, cancel that, familysearch.org shows him born in 1974

will leave this here to rule him out :-(

Does anyone know how you can obtain a divorce certificate . A relative has tried to apply and because Jenny's maiden name isnt known it came back no trace as apparently the records were kept differently from 1976 ish in Australia .

Thank u x
