And Maries as Birth 16 JUN 1913 in San Francicso, CA. One of them must be wrong. It seems, from later records, that the one for Marie’s is. I’m still unsure if the one for Eric is correct as all census give another name starting with W. The mother’s maiden name does tie in with his siblings.

Its not unusual to get the year of birth wrong when registering a death.
The dob of 18 Dec 1885 would fit with a registration being made early in Jan 1886.

There are a few on passenger records but I must admit to not liking the way FMP has transcribed, for instance using broad search on names I came across a Sam B... now looking at the image it's crystal clear, because it's typed, that he is Sam Bloomfield , why not say so in the first place :-|

There are quite a few possibilities.

The one I was looking at (before himself claimed the PC) had been naturalised in NYC in 1889. Unfortunately I couldn't find him on any census with a wife Sarah who had been foreign born.
