Hi am looking to see if any descendants of Georgina Starling have in their possession a photograph of Herbert and/or Georgina. They were my ggp.
Herbert met Georgina when he was a ostler at the Feathers in Holt.
Any information would be helpful.

Have you looked at this site for people with these people in their trees?

A little difficult for others to help without more info, like dates of birth.

You have in your tree - a guess?

Georgina Starling 1870 Holt, Norfolk, England

others have

Georgina Starling 1875 Holt, Norfolk, England

but the only birth in Norfolk is

Births Jun 1879
Starling Georgina Thetford 4b 376

and two people do have that info in their trees (Feltwell is in Thetford reg dist), while one has the same 1980

Do you know those various other people, or have you tried to contact them?

1911 census for info

Herbert Chestney 35 - born c1876 Cley next the Sea, Norfolk
Georgina Chestney 33 - born c1878 Holt Norfolk
William Frederick Chestney 13
Madeline Ellen Chestney 11
Annie Maria Chestney 9

so likely the 1879 registered birth is the one and Georgina may have overstated her age slightly at marriage

1901

Herbert Chestney 27
George Chestney 25
William Fredk Chestney 3
Georgina Daisy Chestney 5
Madeline Ellen Chestney 1

someone corrected Georgina's name (not George) in 2012, do you know that person?

Just to say too, don't give up ... but you have to actively look, not just hope to be found.

About 3 years ago I decided to track down a first cousin of my deceased father who I knew existed, from vague family tales, but who had never heard of my family ... I found him in Australia via the university he had retired from, once internet searches found him there, and amazingly, he had a photo of my father's paternal grandparents, that he had scanned and sent to me.

A truly fabulous family photo in front of their house, together with all their children - well, almost all of them. He didn't know who anyone in the picture was, but I was able to name them and date it (summer 1907) -- because it had to have been taken a few weeks after my (underage) grandfather joined the military, so he wasn't there, and a few weeks before the cousin's own father was born, so he is visible only as a bump :-)

There appears to be a photo of Georgina on an Ancestry 'Chesney' tree, with daughter also Georgina.

yeah ... don't do any actual research, just post multiple threads here and there and hope somebody else is doing their research ...

Also info on the Ancestry tree/trees ( there are several) with details as per other wife, no photo that I can see, except of gravestone.

Sharon, it's sense to stick to one thread per family, otherwise helpers get really fed up with continually duplicating info already found on another thread on ( or inevitably connected to) the same topic/family.

I think Joonie has, unsurprisingly, hit her patience limit with that this week or so as there have been so many posters doing it. It IS maddening when you find you have been doing your best to help and then finding all the info is already on another thread. It's been said by the volunteers here so many times, "stick to one thread, please don't duplicate"....that eventually you get to the point where you despair.
