I am looking for three cousins who emigrated from Scotland in 1960 with their parents Alexander McFadyen (my father's oldest brother) and his wife Rosa Sara Ruth Keins. They are James Henry (Jimmy) born 1945 Tel Aviv, Kenneth both 1950 Dunfermline and Margaret Marion born 1954 Dunfermline. I believe the family settled in Brisbane. Would love to make contact.
Dorothy (nee McFadyen) :-)

Rosa seems to be listed as Ruth Rosa Sara McFadyen on electoral rolls up to 1980.

The records on the Australian National Archive give the dates of birth.
As the parents are likely to have died ....

MCFADYEN Alexander born 30 September 1912; Ruth (nee Keins) born 28 April 1922;

There's some possible entries in Greater Brisbane if the boys stayed in the area, in the online phone book

https://www.whitepages.com.au/residential/

Assuming Margaret has married, there is no way of knowing what her new surname is. Australia have a much sticter approach to privacy than the UK has.

Thank you both for the information, much appreciated. The dates of birth you state are correct. Auntie Ruth (as I always knew her) has possibly rearranged her names which originally were definitely Rosa Sara Ruth. Thanks for the link to the phone book, something I didn't think to do. Will see what I can turn up and will let you know. Again, thanks so much.

Hi Dorothy -

The 'QLD State Library' (on-line) has an 'Ask a Librarian' service - they will check electoral rolls (past & present).
(you could then double-check address/es shown in 'White Pages')

The 'RYERSON INDEX' (on-line) has newspaper death notices to present day.
The 'Librarian service' will check any notice/s you may find -for family names etc.
