Unless I can't see for looking there is still info from the marriage certificate of Henry H Alexander and Vera Collins 1942 which you have been asked for but haven't given as yet. I know some of it's on the thread but can you give it in one post so it's ALL in one place. Thanks

Please give all details -

Where married and what date
Full names (plus any military details)
Their ages at marriage (not always quite true!)
Their address/es at marriage
Their occupations at marriage
The name of their Fathers and whether deceased or not
Occupations of the Fathers
Names of witnesses

And also the address/es where their children were born

Deborah you say you have searched the address already and it was destroyed during the war , but have you searched it on electoral rolls previous to that?

malyon Report 24 Jul 2017 14:11

cant see any births for henry h alexander 1920-21

Deborah

Deborah Report 24 Jul 2017 12:07

The address was destroyed during a bombing raid in the war. I searched it already... Henry was born in 1920-21.

I have tried searching under different middle names. His marriage certificate lists his middle name as Harry and I thought it was odd too!

I have contacted the Pioneer Corps this morning, so I'm hoping they might be able to help.

From what I have discovered, I'm 99% certain he was Jewish. It might explain the lack of documentation.

Deborah

Deborah Report 23 Jul 2017 20:49

Harry! That's what the marriage certificate says.

Different parents. I ordered that birth certificate too, I was wondering if they were related. But it's not my father's sibling.

Vera was from Lancashire, unfortunately she died in 2003 or thereabouts. Electoral roll shows no info on Henry H.
