That's great Karon.

Come back to this thread when you get the certificate and we can see if we can find anything from the information it gives you.

Yes, Feltham is in the Middlesex South Registration district. What you really need the certificate for is for his father's name and occupation and possibly an address for where Raymond was living at the time.

His father's name may help with finding his parent's marriage and therefore his mother's maiden name - which will help find the correct birth, and then possibly any siblings he may have. After that you may be able to find members of his family who may know of Raymond's whereabouts.

As Shirley has already said, most of us have had years of experience doing our own family history and helping out on these boards trying to help others. We also tend to use other subscription sites to find records. Most don't use Genes records, but Findmypast, Ancestry, FamilySearch etc.

Most of us it's years of experience in looking and sometimes out of the box

Sooo I would recommend getting the marriage cert .or asking your mum to look at it if that's possible

If you need to buy the cert then get it from

www.gro.gov.uk. Using the GRO ref that I will pm you

You register on the site ,free ,then follow the order form .
Tick the box that asks if the GRO ref is known and fill in the boxes with the ref as it comes up

The cert costs £9.25 inc p&p. Only get it from that site as that's the official office
Others will charge you more but get the cert from the GRO and pocket the diff !!!

Do you have their marriage cert for his age and fathers name

Have you found his birth to see his parents names and to see if he has any siblings

You may be able to follow up on his parents or possible siblings

There are only 5 with no second name born 1940 -1943

Hi Karon,

Yes, going by your name I thought he was your father as I found a marriage for them in 1964 in Middlesex South Registration district.

I have looked on the electoral rolls on Findmypast (they are only from 2002 up till 214) but there are too many men called Raymond Dennis to know which one would be your father.
