Have you tried Search All Members Trees to see if anyone has the names listed?

If this is John Edward & Eveline in 1939, they don't have any closed records (living people) or children listed with them. FreeBMD isn't showing any Summers/Campbell births 1930-1939 in the Leeds area

Dorothy (Summers) and Leonard Green did have children. You can find all of the names (to 1939) by using FreeBMD, entering surname Green, mothers maiden name Summers year range 1920-1939. Specify Leeds as the Registration district.

As Alfred's name is shown on the 1939 Register, he has died.

Green Household (5 People)

The closed records were likely for their sons born in 1925 & 1927. Although there is a possibility they have died abroad or after 1992 when the Register ceased to be updated, they may still be living.

Potentially, there was also a daughter born in 1939 but after the register was compiled (29 Sep 1939) & another son in 1941

Joe & Emily on the 1939 Register

Summers Household (2 People)
1 Melville Place , Leeds C.B., Yorkshire (West Riding), England

FIRST NAME(S) LAST NAME(S) DOB SEX OCCUPATION MARITAL STATUS SCHEDULE SCHEDULE SUB NUMBER
Joe Summers 02 Aug 1915 Male Upholsterer Bedding Single 178 2
Emily Summers 17 Jan 1908 Female Raincoat Machinist Single 178 1

As Joe died in 1940 didn't marry, you won't be able to trace any children he may have had outside of marriage unless he was named on a BC.

Joe Summers
Death Age: 24
Birth Date: abt 1916
Registration Date: Mar 1940
Registration district: Wharfedale
Inferred County: Yorkshire West Riding
Volume: 9a
Page: 632

If you think it likely, there is one male born in Leeds (1948) where both surname entries are Summers. Although he might be the child of a Mr Summers who married a Miss Summers, it could also suggest that he was the child of a single mother.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 6 Dec 2017 01:53

John Edward Summers died in an accident.

Yorkshire Evening Post 19 December 1946

'A Pure Accident'
Death Fall on Roof Job

At the inquest in Leeds this afternoon on John Edward Summers (45) bricklayer of Scott Hall St, who died from a skull fracture and multiple injuries after a 24ft fall while working as a slater at premises in Pembroke St, the Coroner (Dr A Swanton) said the death occurred through a pure accident for which no one was responsible.

Harry Hartley of Berkeley Lane said he and Summers were repairing a roof. Summers went along a beam between two buildings and had examined a chimney when the beam went down and he fell, striking an outside roof before hitting the ground.

Hartley added they had used the beams as their ladders and tackle would not suffice.

There's always the chance that some one related will spot this thread in years to come. As long as you keep your GR account linked to a current email address, they'll be able to contact you through the personal message system.

Unless you receive a reply from the members you've contacted, probably the only current way to trace relatives is to buy Alfred's DC and/or Probate record. Then you'll have some more up to date names to work with.
