Hi JoonieCloonie.
thank you for your reply, Monica was a dear friend who was adopted just after birth.
Although she was told at a young age of her adoption, she grew up as an only child.
I knew Monica from her 30s but did not know she was adopted until thirty years later.
She knew nothing of her "chapter one" and then she asked me if I could help her find any siblings she may have.
With help from people like yourself ,on this site, we set out on a journey which was to take over six years.
We discovered she had eight siblings, although there was three mothers involved, six were still living. Kenneth,a brother from her own mother was the most difficult to find. He was eventualy found in Australia.
Monica did get to meet all six of her living siblings. How fantastic was that!!!.
Sadly, Monica passed away in June this year, aged 77.

And I have just seen this now.

Yes, there was a hypothetical K at a hypothetical ranch in Alberta and a lot of other things that a number of people spent a good bit of time trying to track down...

Unfortunately, I don't remember who Monica was (your family member I guess) but it's good to know that she found what she was looking for while she was still here.

It would be good if you were right, but hardly anyone who was on here 9 years ago is using the boards now.

ErikaH, I feel sure that the people who helped me at the time, would remember as there was quite a lot of it. Thanks.

Unfortunately, as you deleted all the relevant info, no-one knows what or who this refers to

Hi all,
I can not believe it is three years since I last spoke on the above subject. Well, I can tell you that we did find K W H after seven years and he was in Australia.
He came to the UK and all the living siblings did finally get to meet. How brilliantl is that.
Now for some sad news. Monica, unexpectedly passed away on the 4th May 2021 at the age of 77.
So, on behalf of Monica her family and myself, a very big "THANK YOU" for all the help and support you gave. Without that none of this would have been possible.
Yours very sincerely, Colin.

Detective is right. If a thread has run its course, all that need be done is to leave it be and stop adding to it. :-)

Sometimes there is personal info in a thread that it might be indiscreet to leave in a publicly accessible posting, but otherwise there is never any reason to delete, and there may be good reasons not to.

I too have actually had three people contact me since the new year after reading info that I added to Ancestry records of family members literally years ago.

What a shame. If you’d left them, one of KWH’s descendants, if they exist, might have stumbled across them in the future. They’d have been able to give you the missing links. What is done, is done.

A couple of years ago, I’d posted a thread about a deceased person. His daughter spotted it late last year. My living FiL is his cousin. We’re planning on meeting up next month!

Hi all,
I have chosen to delete my previous threads on the above subject as it's been six years and I think it has run its course.
I have had some fantastic help with it and sincerely wish to thank all the kind people that have assisted me on this journey. Much too many to name, but you know who you are. Please keep doing what you do.
Thanks again, best wishes, Colin.
Ps, I'm sure I will be back.
