Can you look at the husband’s ‘friends’ to see if there’s an active one with the surname? Try to send them a message.

Do you have details of any relatives in the UK? Maybe we can help you find them?

Unfortunately that link only produces a "File not found" message, Ru

At least it does for me..

EDIT:
It seems to be another site limited in its scope, only referring to a few places, mainly relevant to the website owner's family tree:

If she had property/investments in England or Wales, her estate might have gone to Probate. Try here
https://probatesearch.service.gov.uk/#wills

Hopefully, she's just busy enjoying life :-)

The burial records on Ancestry are from the website Findagrave, and come right up to date, including a few in 2018.

So worth a try if you like to give us her name? (If you don't have an Ancestry sub yourself.)
Of course, if she's not listed there, it doesn't necessarily mean she's still alive.
It's not an exhaustive collection, by any means.

Or have you tried Googling her name? You might find an obituary or other mention.

EDIT:
FamilySearch also has Findagrave burials up to 2018.
You have to register, but it's free to search.

Some general info here - found by Googling. As Erika also suggests, it's the easiest way to start, no matter what you're looking for :

You might be lucky and find a gravestone photo here, though of course it's by no means certain:

https://www.gravestonephotos.com/search/findname.php

Ancestry has deaths in some parts of France, up to about 1909, and also some more recent burial records.

If you'd like to tell us the name(s) , with ages/dates if you know them, we'll have a look.
