If you look at "Search all Member trees" for Nicola, someone named Nicola has her in her tree - could be Nicola herself.

If you look at "Search all member trees" under "Search" at top right of this page, and search for Michele's husband's name (just the first and last names, and YOB 1966), you'll see that three people (besides you) have him in their trees - Isabel, Stuart (who may even be the man himself), and Jacen.

Click on "Find out more" at the right of each record, and send a message explaining your interest.

I've no idea if these people are still members of GR or not, but you may be lucky and receive a reply. No guarantee!


The same three people have Michele in their trees. ( Michele with one L, as in her marriage record too.)

Thank you for your reply. I’ve updated my original post now. The death certificate for my birth mother listed an address for Michelle in Perth Australia.

Unlike my birth mother, I have so far not found anything to suggest or confirm my birth father may have passed away.

Michelle and her husband were living in Cleveland at least until 2002, per ER.

Unfortunately the house has been sold twice since then.

You say Michelle is maybe in Perth. Do you mean Scotland or Australia?

If your father is deceased, it will be virtually impossible to identify the right record, unless the exact DOB is given, as it's such a common name.

I am attempting to search for my birth family.

Birth Father James Murphy born June 1947, he came from a large catholic family in the North Ormesby area, he had been previously married and had a child.

Birth Mother Margaret Elizabeth House born 25.09.1941 who passed away 09/01/2005. She had a child Michelle Margaret born 1968 from a previous relationship. Nicola was then born 1973, followed by Mary 1974 and myself in 1977. Myself and Mary were put up for adoption.

I have obtained a copied of my birth mothers death certificate and understand Michelle is under the name of Shaw and maybe living in Perth, Australia.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
