I am trying to find details of my maternal grandfathers military history , he was born in 1892 registered in West Bromwich Staffordshire. Service as I understand was possibly from 1916 as a territorial in the 1/4 Ox and Bucks Light Infantry, 10 th Platoon ,C Company B.E.F. Italy as part of the South Midland Division and 145th South Midland Brigade .Unfortunately I think alot of Territorial records were destroyed in accidental fires in the 1930s.
Any help would be much appreciated .Regards Brian Owens.

Could his service no. be 26154?

British Army WWI Medal Rolls Index Cards, 1914-1920 about Frederick Hewitt
Name: Pte Frederick Hewitt
Regiment or Corps: Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire Light Infantry
Regimental Number: 26154

Awarded the British and Victory Star.
.....

If you have already searched the National Archives (or the link to Ancestry) the full service records probably haven't survived - 60% were destroyed in WW2 bombing. :-0
