Hi, Thank you very much for the information on my grandfather's army record, I note McFarlane not McFarling this has happened a lot in the past, but there is no dought this is him.
I will go to Ancestry.com to find out some more.

Many WW1 records were lost in WW2 due to the blitz, it is a lucky find to have these so may I suggest you join Ancestry.co.uk for a short period and actually print these records.

There is much more on them, medical records, eg; old injury on his cheek etc.. His absence from duty and more.

It's always nice to have some paper in your hand to read than just from a computer screen, makes it so more real and is a very grounding experience, yes I talk from experience .

I have been trying to find out about my grand father's army record without success. I know that he was based in England about1908ish at places like Tidworth, I think he was an officer's batman. I would be pleased to hear of any information.
He was born in Jersey Channel Isles 1988 and died about 1952
